Riven looked at Liliana.
"Liliana..." she began. Liliana noticed the tears in Riven's eyes.
"C'mon, I thought you were strong" Liliana told her. Riven wiped her eyes.
"I am. It's just I was starting to think Shiro and I were actually a thing" Riven admitted. Liliana put one hand on Riven's shoulder.
"You said it was fake right? That's what Shiro took it as, so that's why he isn't taking it seriously" Liliana told her.
"I'm sorry" Riven apologized.
"For what?" Liliana asked.
"You've loved Shiro the longest and have known him even longer, yet here I am trying to take him away from you." Riven clenched her fists. Liliana smiled.
"It's fine. Whoever Shiro chooses is his choice, so I have no right to interfere."
"But..."
"I'm telling you it's fine." Liliana looked sad. Riven wanted to say something, but she decided against it. Meanwhile Shiro, Kaede, and Emi were on their way to the elder's house. They had to climb a hundred steps or so to reach the top. Once they reached the top, they noticed a fairly large temple near the end of the stairs.
"That must be it" Emi declared.
"Let's go inside then. C'mon Kaede" Shiro suggested as he headed for the entrance. Kaede nodded and joined him.
"Don't forget about me!" Emi said as she also caught up with them. The three of them entered the temple and were greeted by an elderly angel.
"How may I help you?" the elder asked.
"We're looking for an elder who knows about angel magic" Emi replied.
"Hmm, we do have one. Follow me" the elder said, leading the trio to a room at the end of a hallway. He pointed to the door. "She's in there. She's been expecting you, Emi." The man left without another word. She was left astonished.
"Let's check it out" Shiro suggested. The three of them entered the room and were surprised to see an elderly woman who looked just like Emi , except her hair was white and her face was wrinkly.
"Welcome," she greeted. She looked at Emi. "Greetings granddaughter."
"Granddaughter? Wait, you're my grandmother?" Emi asked, surprised.
"I am. I am Maria Yusa, the other of your late mother, Emi" the elderly woman said. Emi's eyes grew wide.
"Mother..." she began. Shiro could see tears form around her eyes. Shiro placed one hand on her shoulder. She blushed and held back her tears.
"Worry not, your mother died a good death in the battle against those damn demons," Maria assured her. She looked at Shiro. "I see you brought the Seven Swordsman. Is that what you wanted to ask me about?"
"No," Shiro responded. He pointed at Kaede. "My gakusei here can use a weird form of angel magic." Maria's eyes grey slightly as she examined Kaede.
"I feel it. This girl does possess the power to use ancient angel magic" Maria said.
"Really!? Whoa, this is amazing Sensei!" Kaede said joyfully.
"But you have to master it young one" Maria said. Kaede stopped cheering.
"I know, but I will work hard" she said.
"How does she have this power, grandmother?" Emi asked. "Our family is the only one who still has ancient angel bloodline."
