"let me get this straight, the ashley, wants to be friends with a loser?" i asked open mouthed, as me and ashley sat at the local smoothie bar, might i add, SKIPPING the 6th lesson, i mean i hate physical education, but i don't want to get a bad grade!
"no, ashley wants to be friends with the one and only victoria" she said smiling
"there's a catch, what is it?"
"well i don't really have true friends, and my life kinda sucks, you are a really nice girl and you don't have friends either, i could make you popular and everyt-" i cut her of saying "so what you just want me so i can be you-" this time she cut me off, "please, vicky, i need you" she said staring at me with puppy dog eyes, "but you have friends, and why me?", "because one, i don't have friends, they just want to be popular and two, ill say it again, you are a really sweet girl vicky"
the ashley was calling me sweet?
"ashley i-",
she cut me off again, is this her thing?
"i won't take no for a answer, i know your secret vic, i want to make your last year, the best" she said grabbing a hold of my hands and smiling at me, "but how? who? what?" i felt like crying, i didn't want anyone to know, "christmas eve, that was like the last day i stopped being a bitch to everyone but mostly you, you know why?" "why?" i asked with a soft tone, "i heard you in the hospital, i saw you hooked up to that machine, i couldn't stop snooping, but you saved my life from bitchyness, so let me repay you, make this year count" she stopped and let go of my hands,
she knew my secret, she knows, it's my last year, maybe i won't waste it
"fine" i said finally agreeing, "fine?" she repeated me, "i will be your friend, but on one condition"
she stopped dead and looked in my eyes, "i will do what i can" she said getting up and coming to the sofa chair i was sitting on and hugging me, "i will do what i can, and that's a promise, thank you".
