Megan Lee roamed the halls of her high school. She was avoiding specific hallways that she had learned would have bullies in them. Well, every hall had bullies, just not all of them were coming after her.
Megan made her way almost to her locker when she was stopped by a brown haired girl. She sighed, this was Erika Tham, the worst bully in the school. Not only was Erika mean, but she had an equally as mean boyfriend, John-Alan Statcha, or just John as most people called him.
"Well, well," Erika said. "Leaving for your locker so soon? But Megan, we haven't had any fun yet."
Megan braced herself. John then came up to her and held her up by her shirt collar. He pressed her against the lockers. She struggled, but failed to get out. Kohn let go of her suddenly, making her drop to the floor with a bang. She managed to keep her books together, only losing a few papers. Erika and John walked off, and Megan went to pick up all of her papers.
She managed to pick up her papers when the warning bell rang. She ran into her classroom. She took a seat behind a girl with black hair. This girl she knew as Louriza, a rebel kid who wasn't usually in class. That's when Megan realized that day was going to be a bad day, because Louriza was actually in class, which meant something bad was about to happen..
The bell rang and the teacher still wasn't there. Megan looked over to the kid next to her. It was a blond boy in a hoodie. "Hey Dale," she said. "Do you know where the teacher is?"
Dale shook his head. He was fiddling with his thumbs. Megan knew Dale was shy, but they had been friends for a while. She was the only one who ever heard him talk.
Megan smiled at Dale, just as the door opened. "Sorry I'm late," a man said.
This was a substitute. Oh how Megan hated substitutes. They knew how shy Dale was and he usually ended up with detention. She was very protective of her friend.
"I'm Mr. Martin, and I'm going to be your teacher for the rest of the year, because Mrs. Daniella was transferred to seniors."
The class groaned. Everyone hated getting new teachers. However, Louriza seemed pretty happy. She stood up. "Well, well, well," she said. "Then we should give you a proper McKendrick High School welcome. Fire!"
All of the kids that were in the front row began pummelling Mr. Martin with spit balls. He glared at them as they finished. "Detention, all of you!" he said. "All of you with the straws! And you young lady, what's your name?"
"Louriza," she winked. "Louriza Tronco."
Megan shook her head. Louriza thought she was such a bad girl. "Well, Louriza," Mr. Martin said. "You can spend a week in detention for starting this disruption."
Louriza rolled her eyes. "Whatever," she said.
Dale raised his hand. Mr. Martin called on him. "May I go to the bathroom?" he asked quietly.
"Speak up boy!" Mr. Martin said.
"Yeah Dale," John said, teasing the shy kid. "Don't be like Lily!"
The whole class erupted in laughter. (Sorry if you don't get that reference.)
Dale rested his head on his desk, he was used to torment. "Fine, Mr. Whibley, if you want to be like that, you too can have detention, but you will have it on Tuesday with Mr. Statcha!"
Dale shook his head. John laughed. "This should be fun," he commented.
Megan sighed, resting her own head on her desk. "Ms. Lee?! You too?! Detention on Tuesday with these fools!"
Megan sighed. She hated strict teachers. She lifted her head up and looked over at Dale. He looked exhausted.
The bell rang, and Megan felt saved.
The day seemed to drag on and on. Soon though, Megan was walking home with Dale by her side. "You okay?" she asked the blond.
He nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine Meg," he replied softly.
Megan gave him a hug. He smiled at her. "Wanna come over for dinner?" Megan asked, her family loved Dale.
"Sure!" Dale replied happily.
Megan and Dale went towards her house. Her mother was reading a book on the couch. "Hey mom, Dale is gonna stay over for dinner, is that okay?" she asked.
"Sure sweetheart," Mrs. Lee said. "Hi Dale."
"Hi Mrs. Lee," Dale said shyly.
Megan and Dale ran upstairs to her room. Megan took out her laptop and began playing her favorite song.
I got all I need when I got you and I
I look around me and see a sweet life
I'm stuck in the dark but your my flashlight
You're getting me getting me through the nightDale stared at Megan. "I never knew you could sing," he said.
Megan giggled nervously, closing her laptop. "Yeah," she said. "Well I didn't know you could talk until a month ago."
"Ooh," Dale said, fake grabbing his heart. "That hurt Meg."
Megan stuck her tongue out. Dale took her laptop and attached his phone. He then began playing some beats he had made earlier. "Oh, you DJ?" Megan asked.
Dale nodded. "Listen," he said.
As soon as Megan thought she had the tune, she told Dale to start it over. He did, and she began to write lyrics to it. They then heard her dad call them for dinner.
Megan shut the laptop and Dale grabbed his phone. They ran downstairs. After eating dinner, Dale said goodbye to Megan and was out the door.
The next morning, after alerting her parents that she would be later coming home, Megan went on her way to school, Dale by her side.
This should be fun, she thought.
