Don't judge a book by its cover,
Wait for the story inside,
Although she may seem tough,
She has an emotional side.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Hear the story to be told,
Although she may act mature,
She is only 12 years old.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Listen to the story she has to tell,
When she acts like everything's fine,
Nothings fine or well.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Wait and see what's beneath,
Although the exterior may be hard as rock,
She is a true softy underneath.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Things aren't always as they seem,
Although to some she may seem horrible,
She isn't really that mean.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Look closely to see what you find,
Although to some she may seem rude,
She is actually happy and kind.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Assumptions aren't all that great,
Once you get to know the real her,
She might become a good mate.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
There is a reason she acts that way,
In her mind the glass is always half empty,
And the sky is always grey.
Don't judge a book by its cover,
Only judge what you know,
Don't judge a book by its cover,
You don't want to stoop that low.
