Olivia's POV
Today Luke and I are going to the doctor for my 6 month ultra sound, and we're going to find out the gender. I woke up and got dressed it was chilly this morning so I made sure to dress warm. I put my hair in a bun and decided on no make us this morning. I got Ruby breakfast and got her to watch tv while I made myself and Luke breakfast. I made us pancakes with some fresh fruit. I called up to Luke. "Luke, come on breakfast is ready." I yelled. "Comingggg." He yelled back. I put his plate on the table and filled his cup with orange juice. I filled mine as well and sat down. Luke came downstairs. "Daddddddddddy." Ruby yelled and ran to Luke. "Hey baby girl." Luke picked her up and gave her a big hug. "You eating breakfast like a good girl?" He asked. "Yesssss." She said. "Are you finished?" He asked. "Nooooo." She said and giggled. Luke plopped her back in her chair so she could finish eating. "Tank you Daddy." She said and continued eating. "No problem Ruby." He laughed and sat down.I finished eating and put my dish in the dish washer along with Ruby's dishes. "Time to get dressed." I said and scooped Ruby up. "I wanna wear a dress!" Ruby yelled and then giggled. "It might be too cold, but we'll see." I said as I went up the stairs. "Yay!" Ruby cheered. I picked out a white and pink dress like shirt with black leggings. "This good?" I asked Ruby. "Yesssssss." Ruby clapped. I put Ruby in a pull-up, she's almost completely potty trained, but with long days like these she gets tired and sometimes has accidents. I got Ruby dressed and slipped on her pink Toms, I brushed out her hair a little so it wasn't as messy. We went into the bathroom and I brushed her teeth and then mine. I made sure Luke was ready before putting on my sweater and Ruby's coat.
Luke put Ruby in her car seat while I got in. "All ready?" Luke said while getting in the car. "Yup. Excited to find out the gender?" I asked. "Of coarse, think it's gonna be a boy or girl?" Luke asked. "I'm thinking boy." I asked. "Me too." Luke said. Luke turned on the car and we headed to the clinic.
"Olivia Cutforth." A nurse said. I stood up and Luke picked up Ruby and we followed the nurse into the room. She measured my belly and then told me to lay down and wait for the doctor. "Are you sick Mommy?" Ruby asked. "No hunny, Mommy has a baby in her tummy and we're going to find out if it's a girl or a boy." Luke explained. "Oh, so I'm gonna have a wittle sister or brover?" Ruby asked. "Yes you are." I said and Ruby smiled. "Am I gonna meet them today?!" Ruby cheered. "3 more months baby girl." Luke said. "Awwww." She said and then the doctor came in. " Hello Olivia, Luke and Ruby." The doctor said. "Hello." I said. "How have you been?" She asked. "No more morning sickness, I've been craving watermelon, and I've been pretty tired and a little stressed." I said. "Okay well we'll if the fatigue and stress has effected the baby." The doctor said and put the gel on the stick and then started moving it around. "Well the baby looks good. Do you want to know the gender?" She asked and I nodded. "Well, it appears to be a.... Girl." She said and smiled. "I'll print out the pictures." She said and left to get them. "Another girl. You're gonna have a little sister Ruby." I said. "Yay!" Ruby clapped. "Another girl." Luke said and kissed my head.
Luke just posted on Twitter that it was a girl, I posted a picture on Instagram and we got loads of comments. "We better change that guest room into the new baby's room." I said to Luke as I made lunch. "Should we go shopping today?" He asked. "Yeah we should before for we forget." I laughed. "You think Patty will be available to babysit?" I asked. "He actually left for tour today." Luke said. "He didn't even say bye!" I whined. "He was in a rush and it was last minute, he texted me telling me to say goodbye from him and he's sorry he didn't get to say in person." Luke said and hugged me. "Aw, Patty's the best." I laughed. "Who else is there? Emma?" Luke asked. "She's visiting with her Dad." I said. "I'm pretty sure Christian is house sitting for Patty." Luke said. "Would he be comfortable with watching her?" I asked. "Well I'll call him right now." Luke said and pulled out his phone.
"So?" I asked as Luke hung up the phone. "Yes, he can watch her." Luke said. "Okay, I'm assuming we have to drop her off?" I asked and Luke nodded. I gave him his lunch and Ruby hers. I went to her room to pack her diaper bag. I grabbed a onesie to change Ruby into so she can be comfy for the rest of the day. I packed 2 extra onesies, some pull ups, her blanket, 2 sippy cups, some of her movies and her toys. Luke came in with Ruby. "You go eat Livvie." Luke said. "Alright alright. Change her into this." I said and handed Luke her onesie. I went downstairs and ate my lunch.
I knocked on the door and Christian opened it. "Hey guys." He said shyly. "Hey Christian." I said and Ruby waved. Luke was waiting in the car. "So we'll be back at around 6. She has extra close, pull-ups, sippy cups, movies, blankets and toys in her bag. Just make her chips or nuggets at around 4. If she gets tired just put in a movie and lay her down with her blanket. She should fall asleep fast." I said. "Okay, got it." Christian said. I handed him her diaper bag. I put Ruby down. "We'll be back soon. I love you." I hugged Ruby. "Wove you too Mama." Ruby said. Christian took Ruby's hair and they went inside. "Bye Livvie." Christian said. "Bye!" I said and the door was closed. I went to the car and got in.
We first got lavender paint at the hardware store, we decided to do a lavender, white and light grey theme for the baby's room. Now we're picking out some bedding and stuff like that. We already have a crib and changing table. "So any name idea?" Luke asked. "I haven't really thought of any good ones, I need a few more days." I laughed. "Me too." Luke said and we continued looking. "I found the perfect ones." Luke said. "Lavender, white and grey bed sheets. How lucky?" Luke smiled. "Perfect!" I said. We got some blankets, new clothes, bottles, diapers and anything else we needed. "Think we have everything for now?" I asked. "I think so." Luke said. "We already have like swings and stuff like that, I'm sure we'll get toys soon and we still have some of Ruby's old ones." He said. "Yes, so let's go pay and then head home." I said.
We loaded the car with our stuff. We both got into the car and headed to Patty's to pick up Ruby. I knocked on the door. Christian quietly opened the door. "Hey Olivia." He said. "Hey Christian." I said. "She sleeping?" "Yes she is." He said and I came in. He handed me her diaper bag and then we went to the living room so I could get Ruby. "Thank you so much for this by the way." I said. "Anytime at all, she was very good." He said and smiled. I carefully scooped her up and she thankfully stayed asleep. "Well I better get her to bed." I said quietly. "Yes you should." He smiled. "Oh by the way, girl or boy?" He pointed to my tummy. "Girl." I said and smiled. "Congratulations." He said. "Thank you so much." I said.
I carefully placed Ruby in her bed. She thankfully stayed asleep the whole trip home. I gently kisses her head and headed to my room where Luke was all ready in bed waiting for me. I changed into some pyjamas, brushed my teeth and threw my hair into a messy bun. "Today was great." I said and put my head on Luke's chest. "It was. I'm so glad I'm getting another little girl." Luke said. "Me too. I love you so much Luke." I said and kissed his cheek. "I love you too Livvie." Luke said and kissed the top of my head. We both turned off our side lamps and cuddled close and closed our eyes and went to bed.
