It was the middle of the night, and Lydia had gotten no sleep. She heard footsteps running outside her bedroom and she sat up. No one should be up. She walked to her door and put her ear up to it. "I'll go wake her." Lydia's mother said with a scared tone in her voice. Lydia ran from her door and quickly laid on her bed,  acting like she was aleep. Her door banged against her wall and she shot up. "Lyd, we need to go now. Cameron had an accident on his board." She said, pulling Lydia out of bed and rushing her out to the car. Lydia's heart sank. What was Cameron doing out on his board at night? Lydia concentrated on the water droplets from the pouring rain and tried to cry.

Her father pulled into the hospital parking lot and worry began filling Lydia's mind. She left the car and ran in. Her mother pulled her into her arms. Tears began filling Lydia's eyes and she tried to pull away from her mother, but she wasn't letting go. "I know where he is!" Lydia's father yelled. They ran after him and towards the elevator. They opened right away and they stepped in. They arrived at Cameron's floor and Lydia ran out. "Cam!" She yelled quietly to herself. "This one!" Her father yelled, pointing at a room next to him. She stopped and ran in. "Honey, calm down." Her mother said as Lydia's eyes began flooding with salty tears. Cameron's left arm was completly gone and he was scarred and scratched all over. She sank into a chair next to his bed and grabbed his hand. Her parents left the roon, thinking it was better to have her calm down herself. She softly rose Cameron's hand and sobbed onto it. She felt him grip it tighly and she looked up.
