Harry’s POV
I sat on the tour bus with the boys after another brilliant, but tiring, concert. I looked across from me at a sleeping Niall and a small smile played over my lips as I watched him. His soft blond hair mixed with dark brown roots. His broad shoulders and frail body. I just wanted to wrap him up in my arms and keep him safe forever. My gaze shifted upward to where Niall’s head was resting and a scowl instantly replaced my smile. Niall’s head rested softly upon Liam’s shoulder, and Liam was staring down at Niall’s sleeping face the same way I had been moments before. My shoulders tensed and my glare focused on Liam. Just then I felt a small hand on my shoulder and I looked over to see Louis frowning up at me.
“What’s wrong Hazza?” I only shrugged my shoulders in response and kept silent, not wanting to admit my jealousy to anyone. The hurt washed across his face and before I knew it he was in the other room. Regret and guilt filled the pit of my stomach. I stood and raced after him, feeling Zayn and Liam’s questioning eyes on my back the entire time. I found Louis in his bunk starring up at the ceiling.
“Lou…” he turned his head and his bright blue eyes met mine.
“Just go away Harry.” I hoisted myself up into his bunk and shook my head.
“Nope,” Louis sighed and sat up, staring at me. His eyes watched my face carefully and he sat, clearly awaiting an apology. I sighed and began trying to explain my odd behaviors. “I’m really sorry Lou…Please forgive me?” I gave my best puppy dog face, causing Louis to roll his eyes and smirk at me.
“Sure Hazza bear, I forgive you. Just don’t let it happen again.” I smiled and gave Louis a quick hug as a thank you. Louis wrapped a lazy arm across my shoulder, just as a sleep stricken Niall stumbled wearily into the bedroom, and I swear my heart exploded into a million tiny pieces at how beautiful he looked. Niall took one look at Louis’ arm draped around my shoulders and he started smirking.
“Night love birds!” Niall called jokingly before climbing into his bunk. I furrowed my brow at Niall’s back and sighed. If he only knew… Louis, sensing my discomfort, spoke up.
“Let’s get back to the boys?” He suggested.
“Sure.” I answered, hoping down from Louis’ bunk with the older lad following close behind me.
When we were all seated on the dark brown leather couches once again, Liam cleared his throat loudly. All eyes in the crowded tour bus quickly found Liam and the sudden attention made him shift uncomfortably.
“Uhm…Well…Err…” Liam stuttered over his words nervously.
“Spit it out Li, you’re sounding like Harry!” Zayn shot jokingly, earning a playful glare from me. Liam laughed an awkward laugh and took a deep breath. After minutes of silence, Liam finally spoke up.
“Well…the thing is…I’m dating Niall.” He said softly, avoiding everyone’s eyes. I stood suddenly, and my heart dropped. Tears rose in my eyes, threatening to spill over the edge.
“You’re what?” My voice filled the silence of the tour bus and rang coldly off the walls.
“I’m dating Niall, Harry. Is there a problem with that?” His voice was defensive and leaking with annoyance. I shook my head softly, betraying the words that my heart was screaming.
“Since when…” I tried my best to hide the hurt from my voice and my eyes. But it’s hard to act happy for someone when they’re dating the boy you’re in love with.
“About a month now…I didn’t know how to tell you guys…’’ Liam said quietly. I nodded roughly and bit my lip to hold back the tears.
“I told you Lou! Pay up!” Zayn’s voice rang through the tour bus, much louder than he intended. My eyes shot to Zayn and Louis in disbelief.
