One of my first exotics from The Taken King, this weapon was recently patched to be recieved with 290 damage instead of 310 (i have a 310, i got mine the first day)

Damage) 290 (can be purchased with glimmer and an exotic shard with 300 damage after discovery) (NOTE: The first day you could obtain it it came with 310 damage, making it one of the highest damages in the game)

How To Obtain) This weapon can only be obtained when the story mission "lost to light" is the daily heroic mission. In this mission you need to get a shard of crystal you destroyed that held Crotas soul. After getting it, the taken cut you off from Cayde and Eris, making you run all the way back out through the temple of Crota. You must place Tomb Husks by locked doors to open them, but once you get to the third door (needs three tomb husks), if you dident cause a wipe (a restart) and you were fast enough, the door to the Taniks strike will open, go toward the teleporter and your ghost will say that the fallen left a distress beacon. Go onto the ship and once you progress far enough in, variks will tell you that the ketch is in enemy hands now, i suggest having a full fireteam for this, you now must fight through the taken all the way to the boss room, and kill a taken arcon priest. You must do this in under ten minutes, and ever taken on the ketch must be killed, even after you kill the boss, once completed, you get the Black Spindle.

Special perks) The black Spindle has the perk "white nail", if you can land three critical shots in a row, the weapon is reloaded from the reserve ammo, comes in handy on stationary bosses like Atheon from the Vault of Glass.

Would i suggest getting and using it?) YES. I have this weapon equiped over a Truth, which is an RPG that tracks enemys. If you can land the shots right, you can chain all the reserve ammo (20, 3 per magizine) into one long damage session. I used this through various parts of the Kings Fall raid over my truth. The weapon is a pain in the ass to get, but if you can, it is well worth the effort.

Interesting fact) before a recent update, using the app to move the black spindle showed it as "classified" with no picture. There is no grimoier (dont know how to spell it) card for this weapon and instead awards only 5 grimoier points without the card.
