"You look beautiful Mia." My mother says for the thousandth time today. She finishes lacing up the back of my dress and we turn to smile for the photographer as she takes our picture. "Thank you." I say trying to see the back of my long white dress.

"Let's finish up your hair!" My friend Jenna says from the bathroom. She's a hairdresser and a makeup artist so she is literally a life saver today. "Thank you so much for doing this." I thank her again. "I wouldn't want anyone else to be in charge of how my best friend looks on her special day." She says laughing and adding even more Bobby pins to my blonde hair.

"Ok I think I'm finished for real this time!" Jenna exclaims and my bridesmaids and grandma and mother come rushing into the oversized bathroom. "You look amazing!" My friend and maid of honor Claire says as she wipes her tears away with a tissue. Everyone nods in agreement and praises Jenna.

We all exit the bathroom and I look in the Mirror again. It's weird seeing myself in a wedding dress. Growing up I was probably one of the only girls I went to school with that didn't dream of their wedding all the time. Maybe I would think about the color scheme and the location of the wedding as I would watch the show Say Yes to the Dress or Four Weddings. But I never actually imagined I would be one of the first ones out of my small group of friends to get married.

"Can I get pictures with the bridesmaids and the bride?" The photographer asks, snapping me out of my thoughts. I smile and nod and gather in front of the camera with my five best friends.

"Now one with the grandma and mother?" She asks, my mothers smile hasn't left her face the whole day so she is ecstatic to take more pictures. "This is going to be such an amazing day for you Mia!" My grandmother says as she wraps her hand around my waist. "I hope so." I say quietly.

"So what did you ladies do last night?" My grandma asks as we all sit and wait for it to be time to head down to where I will be getting married. She's referring to my bachelorette party, which was fun.

"It was so much fun! We went to this new bar about twenty minutes away from here actually. We got pizza before and went to a spa. It was a really nice day." My friend and bridesmaid Leah says. "Mia is the only one who didn't drink! Can you believe it?" Rachel, my other bridesmaid chimes in. I don't drink and they all know it. "Oh she'll realize she's missing out soon!" My mother says laughing. I roll my eyes and try to remain excited about this day.

My friends tell my mom and grandma all about our, well their, adventures last night. It was fun, but I just followed them around and did what they wanted to do. I would've been fine doing nothing at all.

I try to engage in the conversation they're all having, but I can't stop thinking about my bachelorette party last night. The last place we went to was a new bar, which they were just telling my grandma about. It was my favorite location we visited. I got to sit on a bar stool and have time to myself to think while the girls were dancing and getting drunk.

---Last Night at the Bar---

"What can I get you?" The bartender asks me once I sit down. "A ginger ale please?" I ask hoping they have that. I don't go to bars so I wouldn't know. She smiles at me and fills a cup up with what I ordered and places in front of me. "Thank you." I say gulping down almost half of the drink. "Nervous about something?" She asks me as she cleans up shot glasses from the people next to me. "Getting married tomorrow." I say taking off the "Bride" sash my friends got for me and forced me to wear. "I don't blame you for being nervous. I was so bad I couldn't go out the night before." She says laughing at the memory.

"Marriage is hard, but it is worth it." She tells me as she looks down at her wedding ring and smiles. I smile back at her and look at my engagement ring. "How old are you?" She asks me. "Twenty-one." I tell her. "That's how old I was." She says giving me a sympathetic smile, which catches me off guard. "Everyone told me I was too young. I didn't care though. I was ready and so was he. Don't let anyone's opinions stop you from doing what you want." She tells me. I thank her and she goes off to serve some more customers.

"Bride?" I hear a voice next to me say. I turn my head to the right and see a boy who is looking down at my sash. "Yeah." I say sighing. "Unhappy bride?" He asks laughing at my response. "No, just hating the sash." I say crumpling it up. "I see." He says drinking from his glass. "I'm Harry." He says reaching his hand out to shake mine. "Mia." I say as I release my hand from his.

"Are those your bridesmaids over there?" He points behind me and I almost forget they're here too. "Oh, yeah. That's them." I say placing my hand on my forehead as I watch them dance together. "Why aren't you joining them?" He asks me. I look at them again and back at him. "I'm not much of a party person." I tell him. "You're getting married. Shouldn't you celebrate that?" He asks me. Why is he so interested in what I'm doing? "I can celebrate by myself." I tell him, feeling the need to defend myself.

"I bet your fiancé is having fun. Celebrating and getting drunk." Harry tells me as he takes another sip of his alcoholic drink. "I don't care what he is doing." I say quickly without thinking. "Well that isn't good." He says intently looking at me. "Don't get married to someone if you don't care about what they're doing." He says and I roll my eyes. "You don't know me." I feel the need to say. "True. But I can tell you weren't always like this. Don't be with someone who changes you for the worse." He slides his hand through his hair and I turn away from him. "You don't know me." I tell him again and he stands up and walks away.
