I remembered that haunted mansion my friend Chip and I went into when I was a werehog. There was something very odd going on in there and I couldn't figure it out. Everything seemed normal except the fact that there were two awkward ghosts with a camera taking pictures for no reason...but maybe there was a reason. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this mystery no matter what happens. Now...do I remember where the mansion is? I think so...I know so. I started my way to the door, but then I woke up Tails. "Sonic," he said in a tired raspy voice, "where are you going?" "I'm going on a run," I said. "But you don't go on runs this late at night." "I know, but...there are some things I need to run off." Tails crossed his arms. "Sonic, tell me where you're going or else I'm coming with you," said Tails. "Fine, but if you come, you'll be scared." I walked out the door with Tails following. We started our journey to the haunted mansion.
As we were getting closer, Tails was getting more scared. "Sonic, w-w-where are w-we going?" asked Tails afraid. I felt bad for him now. I should've just told him where I was going. "We're here," I said pointing to the haunted mansion. "Sonic! What are we doing at a haunted house?" asked Tails. "I wanted to check something out." "Why didn't you just tell me you were going here? I don't wanna go in there." "Heh, Chip didn't wanna go in either. But, you have a choice of staying out here alone, or going inside with me. Make the right decision." I left him behind hoping that he'd follow me. "Sonic! Wait for me!" Tails cried. I looked behind slowing my walk a little. I ruffled his hair and said, "Good decision." He half-smiled at me and held my hand. Man, he was shaking like crazy. "Calm down, buddy. Everything's gonna be fine. We'll be out before you know it," I said. "Okay, Sonic," said Tails still shivering. I had to stop. I knelt down to him and said, "You know, I could just take you home if you're too scared. It's not that far of a jog." "It-It's fine, Sonic. I-I-I'll be fine," said Tails. I didn't believe him. But I had no choice but to. "All right," I said standing up. I pushed open the door and we walked inside.
It hadn't changed a bit to my surprise. Everything still looked a mess from a previous fight between me and those two nincompoop ghosts. "Whoa, they need to renovate this place," said Tails looking at the hole in the wall that I had created, "Who put this hole in the wall?" "I did, but I was in my werehog form," I said. "Oh." We continued to walk down the halls when we heard a noise. "So-so-Sonic?" "It's all right, Tails. Nothing to worry about. It's probably just the air vents," I said. "Okay." I looked up and through the cracks, I saw two familiar white ghostly beings. Great! Up ahead there were a couple of stairs. "Come on," I said to Tails and I walked ahead. We were on the second floor and I saw a picture of...me? "Sonic? That's you," said Tails. "I realize that, Tails," I said. "There are more." "It's a trail of pictures of me and Chip. Let's follow it. It might lead to my answer." We followed the trail of pictures and Tails picked each one up. The final picture led to a door. A closed door to what sounded like someone taking a shower. "I wonder who's in there," said Tails. "Me too," I said. The water sounded like it stopped and I heard a female sigh and giggle. "Whoever she is, she sounds like a nice lady," said Tails. I chuckled. The door opened and I heard a scream.
Once the female stopped screaming, she gave me a hug. "Um, hello. I don't remember seeing you here last time I came here," I said. The ghost girl just giggled and held my hand, the other hand from which Tails was holding. "Sonic, do you know her?" asked Tails. "I don't remember her...at all. I only remember two white ghosts. Do you have a name?" I asked her. She nodded as she flew us up to another room that I had never seen before. "So many...pictures," said Tails. I couldn't say anything. I saw random pictures of strangers and then a whole section dedicated to me. The ghost girl let go of my hand and flew over to a little pink seat. She sat down and started writing something down. When she was finished, she floated back over to me and handed me the piece of paper. "Angelica Heart. That's your name?" I asked. She nodded. "Oh, well, it's a very pretty name." She blushed and giggled. "Do you have a voice?" She frowned and shook her head no. "Oh. Well, that's all right." Angelica looked at me still with a frown. "Where's that smile of yours? I know it's in you. Smile," I said. Angelica giggled as she smiled. "There it is," I said smiling along. She hugged me again. Tails let go of my hand and explored the room. He must've felt more comfortable now that he knew there was no danger. "Oh, and I'm Sonic, Sonic the Hedgehog," I introduced, "And that's my best friend Tails over there." Tails smiled and waved at Angelica. She waved back. Then she whistled and those two white ghosts came up. They growled at me, but Angelica calmed them down. She was lecturing them in a ghostly way. I just waited here. When she finished, the two ghosts came up to me and gave me a handshake. Was this their way of apologizing?
After the two white ghosts left, Angelica came back with some tea. She started saying something in ghost language, but I couldn't understand it. She pointed at the tea kettle and I realized she was asking me if I wanted any tea. "Oh, yes please," I said. She poured the tea carefully. "Thanks." I sipped the tea. "Whoa! This is the best tea I've ever tasted!" Angelica blushed and giggled. She did that a lot around me. I don't know if it's because she can't talk, or does she...like me? "Hey, can I ask you something?" Angelica nodded as she set her tea down. "Do you like me more than a friend?" She started sweating, which I didn't know ghosts could do, and nervously smiling. "Well?" She nodded nervously. I half-smiled. "Thought so." I smiled at her and winked. She shivered. Was she cold, or did she just have a chill? Either way, I ran over to her and hugged her with one arm. She looked at me and smiled, I looked at her and smiled. I can't believe I'm in love with a ghost. She leaned towards me and I leaned towards her. We were about to kiss when Tails interrupted, "Sonic, come look at this!" I groaned as I left Angelica's presence. "I'll be right back, Angel," I said. She nodded and smiled. I walked over to Tails and saw him with a black light. "Where'd you get the black light from?" I asked. "I made it. But look," said Tails. He shone the black light on the wall and saw puppy prints. "What? She must have a ghost puppy too." "Cool! I'm gonna go look for it. Do you mind?" "Of course not. Just be safe." "Of course, Sonic." "All right, have fun." "Thanks." Tails followed the dog trails, and I walked back over to Angel.
When I got back, I saw Angel staring into space. She looked a little lonely. I sat back next to her. She looked at me and smiled. I did the same. "You're very pretty," I said touching her pretty purple hair, " And the pink flower is the cherry on top." She giggled. We stared into each other's eyes and we felt that romantic feeling again. We leaned in again and this time we kissed. We kissed for a long time. When we let go, Angelica seemed very happy. Something started to happen to Angel. She glowing intensely that I had to cover my eyes. When the light disappeared, I felt a tap on my shoulder. Not a ghostly tap, a human tap. I looked up and saw a human teenage girl. "Sonic, you broke the curse," she said. "What curse?" I asked. "Well, you see, I came in here out of curiousity and the two white ghost guys liked me. They didn't want to date a human, so they turned me into a ghost like them. I wasn't able to talk, or go outside, and I hated life as a ghost. The only way to break it was to find my true love and be kissed by him. And you're my true love, Sonic," Angel explained. "Oh, that makes sense. Well, congratulations." "I couldn't have been like this without you. Thank you," Angel said kissing my cheek. "No problem. Tails! Time to go!" Tails came almost immediately to the call. "Oh wow, what happened?" asked Tails. "I'll tell ya later. Goodbye, Angel." "Come visit!" "I will." Tails and I left the house and went home.
