My God

It may seem a little odd
but I have a different God.

He lives in the light as well as in the shadows.
In the woods as well as in the meadows.
God is the universe, God is the rain
God is the happiness, God is the pain

My faith keeps shattering but I hold on to this dime
While I'm being tested on the sands of time.

So I pull myself together for the next wave
Keep my stance strong or I will be in a grave.
I know it's just a phase
It will pass.
Got to be like a diamond
Not like glass.

I don't know what for I am made,
So I'm out there being a renegade.

On the island of knowledge I need to keep emotions at bay
To find the truth like needle in the confusing stack of hay.

I feel nothing of the known,
but fantasize of the unknown. The limit is infinity,
and I am chained here in pity. Time runs fast
but I'll find something that will forever last.

I may perish into the five elements
But I am not leaving without any footprints.
So I ask the cosmos to bestow upon me the strength,
For I wish to cross the farthest lengths.
I ask my god to never let it diminish
The light that's inside me until the finish.
And when I come to you
I'll come as wafts
Because when the breeze will blow,
You will know
That you have my gratitude
Even at the highest altitude.
But as long as I am here,
I close my eyes & smile from the inside.
For I am aware
God is the universe where we reside.
