Jace helped me out of his truck mindful of his injuries. He stopped bleeding but his deep gashes had yet to heal. I stumbled as he held my arm and led me into the packhouse.
"don't run Lindsay I am in no mood to chase you".
A car pulled up, not just any car but my car. How did...when did they get my keys. Digging in my pockets I noticed my keys missing. I growled as one of Jace's friends got out and slammed my door.
"easy on my car asshole",I growled out
Jace chuckled and pulled me inside and to his office. He sat me down and kneeled in front of me. When he went to touch my face I flinched thinking he was gonna hit me.
He ignored it and touched a bruise on my cheek. I must of hit my face when I fell.
"I'm fine I had worse",I mumbled trying to get him to stop touching me. He growled and moved my face to view the other side. I sighed and sat still and let him check me.
"you hungry Lindsay?",he asked looking at my mouth. His heated gaze went to my eyes and back to my mouth. I cleared my throat and he looked up. Jace was huge I mean over six feet tall huge but very sexy. He had blue eyes tan skin and rippling muscles that I just wanted to touch. I held in a moan when his fingers trailed to my neck. He touched where his mark should be.
I pulled away and moved to stand. He got up and towered over my small frame. I am five feet four inches. My hair when not up is to my waist. I am tan now and skinny well skinner then what I use to be. Jace was looking down at me and he looked sad
"you hungry baby? "
I just nodded.
"yeah I was heading for a cheeseburger, fries and chocolate milkshake till you two stopped me. I treat myself to a treat once a month but you ruined it".
He chuckled.
"you do that I heard of people doing that. I can have the cooks make you that".
I just shrugged and sat.
Jace sat beside me after mindlinking his cooks. He looked pissed as he sat looking out the windows.
"you have to stay here till we eliminate the threats to you and me. I am sorry Linds but you can't leave yet".
I sighed.
"who you piss off now Jace? You rejected me why are they after me I mean nothing to you or this pack", I said looking at my hands.
He growled.
"yeah I was stupid to reject you and abuse you. I will regret that for the rest of my days or at least the days I have left",he mumbled the last part but I heard him.
"Jace what do you mean the days you have left what's going on? "
He sat up and ran his fingers through his hair.
"I may have pissed off a alpha of the rogues and had sex with his mate. I didn't know at the time and she came onto me first. He is mad and wants you as revenge ".
I wanted to punch him but instead I put my hand on his back and rubbed it softly.
"what do we have to do to stop this".
He looked at me in shock and then turned to face me. Pulling me into his lap he kissed my neck making me moan.
Pulling away he spoke near my ear making me shiver.
"we become mates and you become mine. I still don't like you but at least that way you will be safe".
I gave him a look but didn't say a word as our food was brought in.
