Chapter 7

For the past few weeks I haven't seen Safari.

Until today.

I heard he was enrolling here and he was putting his dorm room together. He was different now though. Mean, angry..

I wonder what happened to him.

I knew one thing for sure. he wasn't the same Safari from high school.

"So how do you feel about it?" Avon asked me. I shrugged "it's not that big of a deal I don't like him anymore and he's completely different now."

I stood up and grabbed Avon's car keys off of his night stand "I'll be back."

"I told you to stop doing that." Avon said in irritation.

I laughed "what do you mean?"

"You know what i mean. You need to ask for my car before you use it."

I snorted "it doesn't matter roomie, if you say no I'll still use it, so to be honest your opinion doesn't matter. I said with a shrug.

"Later Rommie." I said before leaving.

"M-Matteo! Ugh! What a bastard." I heard him say.

I laughed and walked down stairs. "Hey Matteo!" A voice called. I turned my head and got slammed against to brick wall. "What the fuck man!?" I yelled as I tried to get the person off of me. "Chill Matty it's me." The person said before coming into view.

Safari.

I blew out a sigh of relief "is there any reason I'm pushed against the wall?" I said with a smirk.

He ignored me. "So I see you got your own family.." He said

"No it's not like that." I said removing his hands off of me.

He shoved me back against the wall "what's is like then Matty?"

"Oh Jesus Christ! Did you forget my name?"

"Shut up and answer me!" He yelled while shaking me.

I stared at him silently.

He stared at me in in anger. His eyes were full of rage and pain. He was.. Hurt.

"Safari."

He let out a hiss when I said his name and backed up. He leaned against the wall besides me and closed his eyes.

"Safari what happened to you?" I said in concern as I backed up against the wall and look at him.

I noticed I was at least an inch taller than him.

"Are those people your family?" He questioned In a sad voice. "Yes.. But by in that way. I was with Finley my step brother and Alice, Avery's sister."

He sighed on opened his eyes "I'm sorry." He croaked out. I reached out to touch him but he flinch away. I pulled my hand back to my side. "You don't have anything to be sorry about."

He shook his head and stood up straight before walking away.

"Safari!" I yelled and started walking towards him.

"No leave me alone!" He shouted before running off. He was crying.

What the hell happened to him? He seemed so.. Broken.
