It was a Saturday afternoon, the sun shined brightly against the window, while I was lying on the couch, the temperature is the perfect 26 degree and the summer breeze stroked my face lightly which made me feel like walking on the cotton candy cloud. I thought to myself, today is going to be the best day ever! until the worst thing ever happened...

I was lying on the couch when my dad said,

"Let's go to the park, I can teach you how to ride a bicycle."

Dad put the bicycle into the car, mom and I changed the clothes and getting ready for my first bicycle-riding experience.

When we arrived the park, there were already a lot of people at the park, so dad said we should go to the middle of the park, it had a smaller amount of people, because there was a small court at the middle. We walked to the middle of the court. I got on the bike as told.

"I think I am gonna fall" I yelled nervously, gripping on the handle tightly.

I was always wanted to ride on a bicycle, but at the same time, I was afraid of it. The bike was shaking, I couldn't make the bike stand, because my foot couldn't really touch the floor so it made me feel not safe, but dad said that he would help me stabilizing the bicycle from the back, so I wouldn't fall.

As I got on the bike, my dad kept on encouraging me to ride, "James, don't be afraid, you did a good job" He said, raising his thumb.

I began stepping on the pedals slowly at first, and then faster, the faster I went, the more fun it got. It gave me that rush as if I was riding on a roller coaster.

Just as I was having fun, there was a big rock came into my sight, it came out of nowhere, I wouldn't able to stop until I hit a rock and fell on the ground.

I felt the crowd surrounding me. I couldn't see anything, but I could still hear the voice, buzzing and humming. I tried to stretch my arms, but I couldn't move my arms, either. I was in a void. It felt like trapping in a nightmare with no escape.

The next thing I knew, I woke up on a bed that wasn't mine, I took a sniff, there was the smell of antiseptic and medicine, it was unpleasant and disgusting. I looked around and realized that I was in the hospital.

My head was throbbing and pounding. It felt like there was a rock on top of me. I was suffocating, when I moved a little all my body hurt. I was in pain. It hurt so much, it made me feel like I was going to die, I thought of all the food I did not have the chance to eat, and all the fun I was going to miss. I tried to figure out what had happened. I wondered if it was just a nightmare, and if it was just a nightmare, I hoped I can wake up right away. All of a sudden, the memory of my first-riding experience came back. I can feel the left side of my head bulging, the wound was just 2 inches above my left ear, I got 6 stitches for that.

When I wake up from the surgery, I saw dad and mom, sitting next to me, when they saw me waking up, they looked relived.

"How are you feeling now?" Dad asked apologetically.

"I feel a little headache, but I think I am fine" I answered.

"Yes, you are going to be fine like you used to be, and the doctor says that you will able to walk in two days."

"And when you are home, we will order your favorite pizzas for celebration." Dad grinned.

This accident taught me a lesson which was that I should ride the bike slowly and carefully and should always be aware of what is coming your way. Whatever we are doing, we should always stay safe so that your parent don't have to be worried about you, and you don't have to undergo the surgery I had. Fortunately, I got well really fast, and eventually learn the right way to ride the bike. NO PAIN NO GAIN!
