I stroked Andy's soft cheek as I laid beside him. Propping myself up on one elbow, I ran my fingers through his semi long black hair, watching his chest rise and fall steadily as he lay on his back. I had propped his head up on two of the flat pillows, setting him down on the comforter with help from Behemoth. Behemoth lay beside the bed that we lay on, whining every now and then as his eyes looked up at Andy.
I sighed, continuing to run my fingers through his hair. My eyes trailed down to his wings, which were neatly folded under his sleeping body. I could just see some of his feathers that poked out from behind him, and guilt washed over me. They were a dark black, just like he had before when I first met him, and I felt bad that this hurt him. Maybe not physically, but definitely emotionally.
Behemoth laid on the floor beside us, whining every now and then in pity. "I know," I said quietly, my voice shaking a bit, "I feel bad too.."
Behemoth let out a shaking howl, and I patted his head, silencing him. If they heard us, they might barge in and find me. With Andy knocked out cold, there was no stopping them. Behemoth was strong but not strong enough.
I brushed my fingers along one of them, and I felt my skin ripple a bit. My body froze, and for a few moments, time slowed down. Everything was in slow motion, and it soon went into a blur. A wave of numbness flushed over my entire body, and for a moment, it went black.
It was dark. I felt my eyes were open, but I couldn't see. I couldn't even see my own hands that I tried holding in front of my face. Worry took over me, and I felt myself sit up. But I was no longer on the bed, I could feel that. I let my hands feel around, taking in the cold touch of a hard floor. Feeling the creases inside, I managed to pick out that it was a hard wood floor.
My hands brushed against another body, and I jumped in fear. I screamed, and threw my hands out as I felt someone's cold hand wrap itself around my open mouth, muffling my cries.
"Shh!" It said, "Shh! It's me!"
"Help!" I managed to cry out.
"It's me! Andy!" That's when my kicking and screaming stopped, and my screams disappeared into the darkness.
I turned around, feeling around until I came in co fact wit his face. I let my hands feel all around, and was relieved to find the cold nose ring hanging from his nostril. "Oh my god, you scared the living shit out of me!" I hissed, assuming that I was still facing him.
"I'm sorry," He whispered.
"Where are we?" I questioned quietly.
I could already feel the sideways glance he was giving me, and I rolled my eyes. Of course he didn't know; it was pitch black. I jumped slightly at the sound of shuffling nearby, and I pressed against Andy's chest, "Move! Move!"
Andy and I shuffled backwards, and I heard a thump as he hit some sort of wall. With a groan, he wrapped his arms around me, letting me place my body against his chest as the pitch blackness disappeared.
I shut my eyes tightly as light flowed around us, blinding Andy and I. Seconds passed before I reopened them. As my eyes began to focus, I heard Andy gasp, as did I. Pulling away, I slowly walked through my room, confused. We were in my room?
"Andy, this isn't-" I stopped midsentence as a chill went through my body, and I watched as he walked straight through me. She followed, taking the same path through me as she shut the bedroom door. I swallowed hard, and watched.
"Alright, enough small talk. You promised me," She snapped at him, folding her arms over her chest. He let out a sigh, walking ahead of her. His muscles tightened, and he said, "Alright I will," He looked up, his blue eyes full of pain as he added, "But you have to promise me something."
