"Mary please calm down," my dad says to my mom from downstairs. I crawl out of my bed and climb halfway downstairs. I watch it all happen. My dad tries to hold my mom's hand. "You're going to wake up Lexi-"
My mom turns towards my dad. "I don't care! I hate Lexi. She should have never been born! And I hate you."
Tears start rolling down my face. I stand up and walk to the bottom of the stairs. "Mommy?"
My mom looks at me with pure disgust. Tears fall more freely from my face. She stomps past me and pushes me aside. I fall over and cry out.
"I'm leaving," she says walking out the front door and slamming it behind her.
"Mommy," I whimper getting up and trying to follow her. My dad comes and picks me up. "Mommy! Mommy come back!"
"Shh," my dad says patting my hair. "It's going to be alright."
I let out a cry and bury my head in my dad's shoulder. My mother's words replaying in my mind.
She should have never been born!
Maybe she was right.
