Chapter 11: That was a thing.

It's about 1:00 pm in the afternoon, today is the hottest day since the summer and the dorm buildings air conditioner over loaded so none of the rooms had cold air. Ruby decided to go out and do something to get her mind off the heat and Blake stayed home dying in the heat. BANG! Blake punched her desk. "It's too hot to run my computer! kinda wish I went with Ruby now." she got up from her chair and plopped down on her bed.

The door handle started to shake and then the door flew open and in came Yang rolling behind her was a giant cooler, She stopped in front of Blake and smiled. "Heya Kitty!" Blake sat up and looked down at the cooler and then up at Yang questionly. "Well, you see I have a whole bunch of ice cream and since Ruby's out wanna be my ice cream buddy?"

Blake giggled. "Of course I would. but we're not eating it here where you can get it all over our stuff." Yang's smile turned into a grin and she and Blake went out to the courtyard and found a nice tree to sit under. "Alright let's crack this thing open!" Yang opened the cooler and pulled out two huge tubs of vanilla and chocolate ice cream, Yang chose the vanilla and that left Blake with the chocolate.

After shoving two spoon fulls into her mouth Yang spoke up. "So, where did Ruby go? She just told me she wasn't going to be around."

Blake looked up at the blue sky, which was completely void of any clouds. "I don't know, she didn't tell me either." Yang nodded silently and took another big bite of ice cream.

Yang put her arm around Blake's neck and pulled her close. "Ya know, this is going to be one hell of a friendship." Blake returned the jester laughing.

"So, it's going to be interesting going back to school after two weeks." Said Blake as she shoved a spoonful of chocolate ice cream in her mouth.

"I just can't wait to get back the phy Ed. You should stop by and watch me fight." She said as she finish what was left in the tub of her ice cream.

"Fight? What fight?" Asked Blake looking at Yang questionly.

Yang pulled Blake in close and stretched out her arm in front of her. "Ya see, I'm one of the top junior boxes around. Whole reason I'm here."

Blake had a moment of realization. "Yeah, now I remember Ruby telling me about that and come on it's not the only reason."

"Are you kidding me, I'm a dumb blonde. The only reason I can understand the mumbo jumbo is because Ruby helped me, my younger sister tutored me." Yang just stared at the sky.

"Well, why does that matter? You made it didn't you?" Blake asked with a smile.

"Yeah, I guess so." Yang made a face like she was going to say something when she was interrupted.

"Hello ladies" they looked up to see Mercury looming over them with a wicked smile.

Yang huffed in annoyment and crossed her arms over her chest. "what do you want Mercury?"

His wicked smile turned into a devilish grin. "Oh come on hot head, I've come to collect from the cutie. " when he said that he turned his gaze to Blake. Yang could feel her anger getting stronger and Blake could see it, Blake put her hand on Yang's shoulder which calmed her down.

"I'll play your game Mercury but remember the deal was Yang came with and if you try anything she beats the shit out of you." He smiled even harder
