we spread ourselves like missionaries
giving freely with our love
emphasizing physical
emotions get the shove.
tinder seeks aspiring hearts
complete with big flat screens
conquer, crave and conjugate
primary quest to loose the jeans.
many moons have come and gone
since the days of lifetime love
when marriage was important
not something to dispose of
modern love is but a vehicle
that you ride until it breaks
trade it in and cut it loose
no fixing when it shakes.
fairy tales and fantasies
drive present lovers songs
no time for ugly ducklings
forever searching for the swans.
one day they must realize?
true love it comes with graft
a sculpture that's been firmly shaped
true love it is a craft.
