Chapter 1: Summer vacation…
Isabella’s POV
I raced out of my classroom, wanting to take the first breath of freedom. Finally. I burst open the doors and felt a shiver up my spine as my flats hit the semi-damp grass, making squishy sounds. Another year of high school was finally over. I was free. I start to spin around giggling with giddy happiness. Two months to do anything I wanted. I was finally too giddy to go on spinning and I sank to the ground with that silly grin still plastered on my face. “You must be aware of the fact that you look like a silly 5 year old rather than a mature 17 year old”. I turned to see who had commented on my stupid act. I squinted through the sunlight to see my best friend Marie. She looked like a runaway model glistening in the spotlight in her shiny mini-skirt and a red v-neck top paired with red heels and lipstick. We were pretty much opposites, but I guess that’s what held us together. She was the only true friend I got, being a newbie to this school. I giggled at her and fell back in the damp grass. “Bella, please be thoughtful enough to spare your mum’s hard time to rub that grass stain off your top”. “Shan’t” I said like a stubborn kid. But who was I kidding. You can always count on Marie to make you behave yourself. Before I knew it I was being dragged to my silver Volkswagen. Today was too good a day for anything to dampen my spirits, even an angry Marie.
Niall’s POV
Paparazzi! They were everywhere! Our concert had just got over and, man, was I tired. I was too tired to even make my way over to the bus. The other lads weren’t even a bit dazed. They were laughing and waving to fans as I dragged myself along. There was just one way to get their attention. “Nialler! Hungry!” I yelled at the top of my voice. At once all the lads turned to me. Within a couple of minutes we were all in our bus and driving towards the nearest Nandos before our trip to Bradford. I smiled at myself. We had two months after the tour for ourselves. We were all going to Bradford to stay at Zayn’s place. Harry was going off to his place after 2 weeks. The rest of us were gonna stay at Zayn’s for the entire holiday. Right now I was relishing my Nando delight as I watched the lads talk on the phone to their girlfriends. Harry was still on with Taylor; Louis with Eleanor; Liam and Danielle were on some serious conversation while Zayn, single like me, was lounging on the couch watching Sponge Bob Squarepants. There were times when I wished I had a girl to spill my stuff to, someone to actually care about me, someone to actually have a proper relationship with, not the kind in which you change your mind once you’ve done what you want to do. Bah! Those only existed in fairytales. I might as well enjoy my summer instead of ponder over things that didn’t exist. Nothing was going to spoil my summer.
The next time I woke up, we were already at Bradford and we were nearing Zayn’s home. I sat up in the couch near the window on which I was dozing. The neighborhood in which Zayn stayed was pretty posh. I was looking at the numerous numbers of trees and houses that we passed on our way. Then our bus stopped, all of a sudden. We were at a school and kids were out and a few were crossing the road. I just let my idle eyes wander the campus. I wasn’t focusing on anything but my eyes caught onto one particular person, among the hundreds walking about the campus. A girl. Only she didn’t look like any of the other girls crowding out of that school. She was wearing a normal pink tee shirt with the picture of a grey kitten on it and faded grey jeans with a pair of black ballet shoes. She looked nothing like the other girls who looked like they had been dipped in some instant make-over solution and brought over to school. But it was the look on her face which caught me off guard. She was extremely happy beyond bound. She looked at the sky with a gorgeous smile and sunk down in the grass. The way her black hair waved over her shoulders as she sat was so….natural. She was enjoying her moment when another girl, who must have been her friend, came and said something to her, to which she gave a laugh. But then she was literally dragged by her friend towards the parking lot. Towards me. I couldn’t tear my eyes off of her. She was laughing the whole way like nothing could keep her down. Suddenly her eyes met mine. I gazed into those chocolate brown eyes and felt myself falling. She didn’t lose eye contact either but I had to let go once the bus started to move. I peeped out to get a better look but she was already getting in her Volkswagen, but just before her head ducked I caught her gazing with the same curiosity. I hoped to see her again.
Isabella’s POV
As Marie dragged me to my car, she started to list out the number of parties we would be going to, the number of malls we would be shopping in, the number of movies we had to watch and so on. But I was hardly listening. I turned my head to look over at the parking lot where I had parked my car. A tour bus was standing in front of our parking lot, waiting for the students to cross over. I looked at the windows, curious, to find a boy looking right at me. He was blonde and my eyes were so stuck in those sea blue eyes of his as we made eye contact. I couldn’t take my eyes away but then as I reached my car his bus started to pull away. I saw him peep over to get a better look. Whoever he was, he looked kinda familiar and exceptionally cute. I didn’t know him but I definitely hope we meet again at a better circumstance.
