I reached out with my vampire senses and immediately heard and smelled- arrogant vampire. He was about 50 yards away and walking at a quick pace.

"Dammit," I breathed, "You all are going to pay for this, especially you two," i swore while glaring at Alaric and Rory. "So you better keep guards posted."

Alcina grimaced at me, remembering the last time i made a promise like this one, "Please Evan, you have to realize that this is for your own good."

"Oh cut the cliched crap, Lina! This mission just gives you the opportunity to make me date like you've been begging me to for the past 200 years. But marrying? That crosses the line!"

Rory faked an awed look with Alaric, "Dear Gods, she actually has a boundary!"

I rounded on them, "You two man sluts probably have hundreds of kids running around homebase!" I started to have a mini panic attack. "Children?!" Alcina gave me a worried look. "What if he wants children? Dammit Lina! You know when I make vows I never go against it!"

Later, Alcina told me how close she was to canceling the arrangement but, unfortunately, hechose that second to come angrily striding in.

We all straightened and turned to him with wary eyes.

"I get that I have a debt to pay but marrying is not what I had in mind. I was thinking maybe I would just assassinate someone or even buy a small cottage for a homeless family but marrying? Who's idea was this?" He demanded his eyes landing on the smirking Rory. "Was it you then?"

Rory's smirk grew wider,"Actually..."

Alcina cut him off and i was a little disappointed. I haven't seen any action inmonths! "Good evening, Lord Foxe. Would you like a drink?"

"No." He looked straight at me and I raised an eyebrow in amusement. How cute that he thought he could intimidate me.

Wow, he had a beautiful eye color, they were mostly green but had a bit of blue like his eyes couldn't decide which color looked better so they picked both. And his lips... dear Gods, were full, not plump, but full. Easy to bite... I turned away aware that he was giving me a full on death glare.

"Back to business." Alaric said unfazed by the awkward tension in the room. "About the wedding..."

I cut him off out of habit, "Can't we just fake a wedding?"

"No." They all said in unison, Alaric pointing daggers.

"Why? What's the big deal? Can't we just handfast? That way it'll only be for a year and a day." I smiled and mentally fist bumped myself. What a brilliant idea!!

Rory looked worried as he glanced at the twins, Alcina sighed, "Sorry Evan but the truth of the matter is, everyone who's everyone, including king Charles I, knows the plans of your wedding and we have already drawn up your special license."

"But... did you say king Charles? Huh." Maybe marrying wasn't so bad after all. "Can I meet him?" My eyes pleaded with Liam while my bottom lip stuck out.

He looked at me incredulously then demanded, "What about the wedding?"

I rolled my eyes, "What about it?"

"All of a sudden you want to get married now?

"Of course not."

"Then..."

Rory interjected, "It's best to let it go. You'll only get more confused."

Alaric, after a few times of trying to cut into the conversation, yelled right in my ear, "Shut your hole!"

I glared at him, "Don't steal my line! We talked about this remember? Now you have to go dry hump that statue of yourself!"

"NO!! Not again. It isn't pleasant." He grimaced.

"Do it." I replied calmly.

"No."

"Don't mess with me Alaric. You prize your jewels don't you?"

He panicked and looked at Alcina and Rory, "You can't let her do this again." He covered himself. "I do prize my jewels."

"Evangeline." Liam said sharply, making me quickly turn my head. "Stop being childish."

I blushed...I actually blushed. How embarrassing. I turned back to Alaric and whispered, "Watch your back...better yet, your front."

I then turned back to Liam who said. "Drama Queen."

"Whatever." I barely kept myself from rolling my eyes, "Back to our discussion. Alcina... proceed."

She smiled, "Aiidan, one of our very own, has gone rogue and has traveled back to the past in 1647.

We don't know what his plans are but we knew just the right person to figure it out. Evangeline, we want you to go back and find him before he does anything drastic. Bring him back here if you can and if possible try not to kill him."

"Of course." I said, now in warrior mode.

Alaric, Alcina, and Rory stepped toward me. Rory touching my right arm, Alcina touching my forehead and Alaric touching my left arm said in every language, "May the Gods protect you through time and space." Signaling, the beginning of my mission.

"Now." Rory put his arm around my shoulders and squeezed me affectionately. "Sorry, we have to miss your wedding."

"Don't worry about it. I totally get it." He let go and Alcina hugged me.

"Oh, Lina." I sighed, "I'll miss you." She let go then Alaric held out his hand which i took and he twirled me.

"You guys get me into so much crap." We laughed, "But I still love you all." We then gathered in a group hug.

Liam was good through it all but you could tell he was impatient to get home. I walked his way and beamed at him which showed off my dimples, "Let's rock this bitch!" He shook his head and grinned."Oh and thanks."

"For what?"

"Letting me say goodbye."

His gaze softened a bit and he skimmed his fingers over my lips. "Any time."
