Italy, one of the most beautiful countries I've ever been to. So historic with it's old buildings and ruins. The girls and I were there a few weeks ago for the Mixers Magnets Italy event, we didn't get to enjoy the country though. Just a drop in trip before we had to head back to the UK. However currently I was spending time with Zayn and the rest of One Direction, mainly with Zayn.

We spent our time in Milan shopping, well the time we had that Zayn didn't have to rehearse for the concert or do sound check. There were so many designer shops and we spent most of the time in the shops which brand names we knew. Zayn wouldn't let me pay for a thing whenever I picked something up I wanted to buy. Typical of him to do that, such a gentlemen.

Today we are spending our last day together before I have to go back to London and prepare for Radio 1's Big Weekend festival.

I was standing in the hotel lobby, waiting for Zayn to come down from his hotel room. I'd left the room when he was in the shower about twenty minutes ago since the breakfast bar closed ten minutes ago and I got there in time to grab some muffins for us to snack on before we had to face the fans outside.

It was crazy outside, I'd seen out the window earlier this morning. Lots of One Direction fans crowding the streets of Milan to get close to the boys. I bet there's double the amount of fans now, hours later.

I glanced to the right and saw Harry hovering around by Paul, looking impatient. To be honest I'm starting to feel the same. Zayn is taking forever to get ready, nothing new there though.

The clock in the lobby struck 12pm just as the elevator doors opened, revealing Zayn. Who was dressed quite casually, to say he took forever getting ready. He didn't even have his hair styled, he was wearing a blue beanie. I sighed and rolled my eyes as he walked over to me.

"Hey babe." He mumbled, sliding his hand into mine.

"Took your time, didn't ya?" I raised an eyebrow, glancing over his shoulder to see that the security guards had come inside from keeping fans away from the hotel doors. Must mean we have to go soon.

"I have to look my best for you, Pez." He smirked, pulling me closer to him by my hand that he's holding. I giggled slightly, shaking my head.

"We should let Paul know we're ready." I couldn't help but bite my lip, I had said it but I actually didn't want to leave the hotel. It meant I'd be leaving Zayn soon. I didn't want to leave him but my girls back in London needed me for the festival gig this weekend.

"Alright. But before we do, can I have a kiss?" He near enough whispered, leaning closer to me. I nodded slightly, leaning up until my lips met his. The kiss wasn't long, it was short and passionate. A goodbye kiss. I squeezed my eyes shut, not wanting this moment to end. I probably won't see Zayn until they're touring in America and we're promoting our DNA album.

He was the one to break the kiss, I slowly opened my eyes and blinked a couple of times since I felt tears prickling behind my eyelids. He stroked my cheek with his thumb and squeezed my hand.

"I'll see you soon." I nodded, trying to sniffle without him noticing. He stepped back and let go of my hand, sliding his jacket off. I raised an eyebrow, watching him before realising what he was doing as he held the jacket out towards me.

"Take this, babe." I smiled slightly, taking the black jacket with camouflage sleeves from him. I absolutely adored this jacket when he wears it. Tucking the jacket over my arm, I pulled him into a hug and whispered in his ear.

"Thanks. I love you." He chuckled, squeezing my waist as he hugged back.

"Love you too, Pez." I pulled away from the hug and took his hand in mine, having the jacket over my opposite arm.

"Ready to go?" I asked, squeezing his hand. He nodded, leading my over to Harry and Paul, who pointed to two security guards before telling us.

"You'll both leave first with them. Then I'll take Harry." Zayn nodded and we followed the security guards out of the hotel, into the world of reality. Leaving our public affections behind in the lobby as we smiled ever so often and waved to the fans. Paparazzi taking photos of us, fans screaming so loud it usually hurt my ears but my beanie was blocking some of the noise out. We reached the tour bus and headed inside, sitting together on the couch until I had to switched from the tour bus to a taxi that would take me to the airport.

------------------

I landed back in London yesterday. The girls and I had dance rehearsals for a few hours and that was about it. I'd been reading the articles wrote about us, Zayn and I. We were being called the new Romeo and Juliet, just cause we held hands walking from the hotel to the tour bus? The press do make me smile sometimes.

I decided to call Zayn, the phone was currently ringing as I walked towards the exit of the building I was inside.

"Hello?" I heard a husky voice speak through the phone, making me smile widely.

"Hey babe, it's me." I mumbled, waving to the receptionist as I stood by the exit in the lobby.

"Oh, hey Pez. How was your day?" He mumbled.

"Good. It was good. Have you seen the articles about us?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. Not that he could see me raising it.

"No. Why? What's wrong?" He sounded concerned, he always did when it came to the press writing about us. I giggled slightly.

"Nothing is wrong. Just the fact they're calling us Romeo and Juliet for walking hand in hand through Verona." I giggled more, waiting for him to respond. He didn't speak for a good ten seconds before mumbling.

"Don't you think that's a bad thing?" Which I raised my eyebrow again to, wrinkling my nose.

"No. Why?" I heard him sigh, what's wrong with him?

"Don't you know the story of Romeo and Juliet, Perrie?" I blinked, biting my lip as I realised what he meant.

"Well yeah, but I thought the comment was a romantic gesture by the press." I headed out of the building, keeping the phone close to my ear as I noticed paparazzi.

"I suppose so, I just don't want us to end like Romeo and Juliet did, Pez." He replied, in which I furrowed my brows and sighed.

"Listen, babe. We won't end like they did because this isn't a secret affair, a forbidden love. We're together in public, we have haters and people who love us. But what we have that Romeo and Juliet didn't is parents who respect our relationship. In fact me mam loves you like a son, Zayn. So don't go all depressed at those articles, okay?" I paused, waiting for him to say something. I heard shuffling on the other end of the phone before he spoke.

"Okay. I won't. Thanks for the reminder of how lucky I am, Perrie. I've got to go rehearse now though. Love you." I smiled, mumbling my reply.

"Anytime, babe. I'll try to FaceTime you next time. Love you too. Bye."

"Alright. Bye, Pez." He ended the call and I slide my phone into my jean pocket.

Maybe we weren't the original Romeo and Juliet. But in my eyes, we were the modern Romeo and Juliet. Together forever. I waste my love on him because he values it.

And as William Shakespeare once said to me, 'Love is a smoke made with the fumes of sighs.'
