The bromance

Grant P.O.V.
"Beep, beep! Beep, beep!" My alarm goes off ripping me out of my sleep. I really don't want to get out of bed right now.
I squint one eye open checking the time on my alarm clock. 8:30 it read, eh my first class isn't until 9:15 I'll snooze it for now.

"Slam" went my hand a I pushed the snooze button falling back into a deep slumber.

...
"Beep, beep!" "Beep, beep! "Beep, beep!" "Beep, beep!"
"Ugh", I groan rolling over in my bed to get as far away from my alarm as possible.
"Beep, beep!" I pulled my pillow over my head trying my hardest to block out the sound and get just a few more minutes of sleep.

"Grant! If you don't turn that damn alarm off I will jump out of this bed and shove it up your ass so far you'll be throwing up numbers for weeks!" Screams my roommate Josh. As you can probably tell by now Joshua is not a morning person. At all in fact he hates mornings so much he sleeps all day until noon and all of his classes are night classes.

"Aww did I wake the poor wittle baby." I teased Josh as I got out of bed turning my alarm off.

"Grant do me a favor, shut up!" Josh says with a loveing and sweet voice at first which quickly turns into a menacingly angry one.

"Joshua do me a favor, go back to sleep and never wake up." I say as I grab my things to go shower.

"Gladly!" Josh screams as I'm closing door behind me.

I walked down to the showers and started to get ready for the day. I really hate the men's shower in my dorm they're disgusting. They smell extremely bad. And guys walk around completely in the nude, it's not a pretty sight.

I go into the showers and begin to wash myself as I shower I start to think and contemplate on what I should get josh for his birthday. On the contrary to what you might've gather from our friendly interaction this morning, Josh and I are best friends we have been since the 3rd grade. We've know each other for so long which is the reason why we are so comfortable talking to each other like that. Yeah, i know we have a strange friendship but he's my best friend without him I wouldn't have lasted 3 days in this town I now call home.

You see, when I was about 8 the summer before third grade my dad and I moved from Tennessee to New York. It was right after my mom passed from cancer. She had breast cancer for most of her adult life and she battled long and hard with it but it eventually caught up with her. That sumer was the hardest time of my life. My dad got really depressed after my moms death and he began to throw himself into his work more and more. We left Tennessee because most of my moms family lived there and dad didn't want any reminders of her. Grandma wasn't to thrilled we left.
When we moved to New York as you could probably tell I was the lame new kid who didn't have a mom and no one wanted to be friends with. That is until josh came along. He was the only kid in the whole school that would talk to me. After that we became like brothers we did everything together, went everywhere together, everything and from then on our friendship just blossomed.
After some time I realize that I've been in the showers for far to long now so I get dressed and head to my first class.

"Hey what you doing" I say to josh as I come into the dorm from my last class of the day.

"Nothing much man just studying for this calculus test I'm about to go take." Josh said flipping franticly through the book.

"Bro please tell me this isn't the first time your going over the material again." I ask him, nervous for his sake.

" No no of course not, this is the first time I've ever looked at the material." He says trying to be funny laughing afterwards.

"Bro, Your not gonna be laughing when you fail and your dad kicks your ass for wasting his money." I laugh at him. Josh has never particularly been one for school or cared about his grades. Honestly the only way he got in college was because his parents payed his way through they're very rich and basically buy him everything but Mr. Castillo is getting feed up with josh. I wouldn't be surprised if he cut him off soon.
"So that means you aren't coming to my gig tonight then."

"No bro, I'm sorry you know I'd skip class to go to a club any day but this is a pretty big test. But I know my grantie will be perfect." He says in a teasing voice.

"Aw thanks sweetie I needed that" I say joking along with him grabbing my guitar and getting ready to leave for my show.
