I walked outside. I blinked a few times to get my eyes adjust to the sudden light but she didn't. Didn't she stay in that house longer that me? How could her eyes stay like that? It didn't even move a little and kept that dead gaze still.
I walked out and crossed the jungle silently. I'll sent my crew back her to get the herbs later. According to the lady I talked in the town, the Log Pose would need about 2 days to be set.
I walked back to the dock and towards my submarine. I saw my crew waiting outside patiently. I did walk slowly on my way back but did I really take that long?
"We're all done here, Captain!" Bepo exclaimed. "You guys go to that hill behind me, there are some rare herbs and mushrooms there and we'll set sail tomorrow" I said, not wanting to turn back and point because of her in my arms.
"Captain, who's she?" Penguin asked, noticing. I looked down to her, smirked and said, "Just someone who might be useful to us. She's sick though, I'll start treating her while you come back" I told all of them looking up, not only the pirate who asked.
They all nodded and went on their way. I carefully walked up and entered the submarine. I went to the infirmary and put her down on a bed. She was still looking up. I took a chair and sat beside her bed (her left side) and sighed.
"Are you okay?" I asked. Her lifeless orbs changed their direction towards me, without moving her head and still having that emotionless expression.
"I don't know" she said silently in a whisper. Her voice was smooth. I could barely hear her so I moved closer. "What's your name?" I asked, also in a whisper."Rin" she said. I nodded. I moved forward and touched her forehead with mine, looking into her eyes and putting my left hand on the bed to support my weight above her. "You have a serious fever" I said and pulled back. I smirked, this girl.
Of course, that's not all. Her whole body is extremely warm for the fever. And she's too light, she needs to eat. I put a blanket over her. I searched my table and took out a thermometer.
I went back to her and put it forward for her to take. She didn't move, just kept staring at me. I moved the thermometer into her mouth. That worked. I went out of the room now.
I went to the kitchen. I opened the fridge and took out an apple. I peeled it and cut it in small pieces and put them in a plate. I wasn't really much of a cook but this is something every doctor had experience doing.
I took the plate and went to the infirmary. I put it down on the table beside her bed and took out the thermometer. It read 38 degrees Celsius. It would need more than medicine to heal, it would need time.
I put it on the table and sat down beside her again. I took the plates with apple and shoved it to her face. "You hungry?" I asked. She nodded.
To be continued...
I'm actually pretty young, generally speaking, so I don't know much how doctors work. Forgive me if I do something silly. Plus Law might be a little OOC...sorry for that.
