There was a knock at my window. I immediately got up to check who it was. Of course I already knew it was Harry, my Harry. It was February 2 today, the day after his 15th birthday, and he knocked right at midnight. Harry has been sneaking over to my window ever since I had moved here, ever since we realized that mine and Harry's balconies were so close that you could climb over one into the other. It was usually a fun experience, having him in my room. It was usually filled with tears from laughing, but this night was different. This night was filled with tears from sadness, from anguish. I had heard the news hours ago. My sister was dead. The doctors did all they could do, but my sister was dead. The man that had crashed his car into hers had tried to brake, and the doctors did all that they could do, but my sister was dead.
I opened the window and he climbed into my room.
"Hey," I whispered to him. I still had tears brimming my eyes.
"Hey," he whispered back. "I waited until the cops left to come over. I didn't know whether I should come at all but your blinds we open." He wiped the dried tears under my eyes. "I saw that you were alone and you were crying so I decided to come over."
I'm glad he did because I didn't want to be alone. We hugged for what seemed like an eternity. It didn't help but when I pulled back from the hug and our eyes met, I knew what would, even if for a little while. I pulled his face closer to mine. I drowned my sorrows in Harry's lips, his skin. It was the first time we had ever done anything like this. It definitely wasn't the last. I let myself get lost in him.
