“Ring a, a ring o' roses,
A pocket full o' posies-
Atishoo, atishoo you fall down!”
A childish giggle filled the air as the blood red leaves fell silently down to the ground from the ancient and grand oaks. A slight echo sounded through the woods, an echo of a child’s laughter, making the woods seem sinister and terrifying to the human eyes. All he trees seeming to become human-like their branches swinging slightly in the air. Rustling of leaves and snapping of twigs the only sound to be heard after the echo finished. Glowing softly, the sun rose up from its deep and peaceful slumber. Spider webs glistened with dew drops and a fog rolled off from the ground. Silence. Not a sound to be heard for miles. Until, suddenly a pain-filled, loud scream pierced the damp air.
The sun still glowed softly, ignorant of the cruelty that hid inside the woods.
The sound of sirens filled the woods, crunching sounds coming from the frost-bitten ground. Dark soil stained with a glistening, red liquid making the ground darker in appearance. The stench filled the air; a rusty, iron taste entering the people’s mouths. “What do you think Frank?” the woman asked her partner, a golden badge shining in the soft lighting. Frank shrugged before turning back to look at the body. “I don’t know but there haven’t been any psycho’s around since 20 years ago. I’m not surprised one came up.” A ringing sound came from his trousers but he ignored it in favor of the corpse before him. The decomposing body had its limbs torn of mercilessly, although from the information they had it seemed that the limbs were torn off after the death. Sadly the death wasn’t peaceful it seemed that the eye of the girl, Amy Jonas, was first cut out whilst she was alive before continuing to torture the 6 year old by cutting off her tongue. Both of the law-enforcers were entranced by the dark hole where the girl’s eye should’ve been, it seemed to grow larger every second that they stared. Frank moved closer to the body. “Doesn’t it seem as if the eye-” his question was left unanswered as he was cut off by a voice. A voice filled with anguish and torment. “Give it back” it said quietly before its voice grew to a shriek. “GIVE ME BACK MY EYE!”
And then the massacre began.
She cried. Quiet, terrified sobs filled the surroundings. The ground soaked a bright scarlet, the sun setting slowly weeping for the fallen. The sobbing loudened in volume turning into a hysterical laugh. It was 30 minutes later that back-up returned; worried about no contact. What they found shook them to the core of their body. Bodies left sprawled on the ground, eyes gone leaving behind never-ending black sockets. And what was worse there was one person left on the grounds; the person was Deputy Amanda Jane Helvetius, the person with the cleanest reputation holding a pair of dull, rusted scissors smiling from ear to ear and letting out a deranged laugh. As they left the car they took guns afraid of coming close to an inhumane and cracked serial murderer. The last thing she said before picking up a spare revolver from her holster was; “It wasn’t my fault, ELLEN HAS COME BACK!”.
BANG!
Leaves fell silently onto the blood-stained ground and a pair of glowing eyes watched from the forest; a smile upon her face “Happy Halloween.” The girl smiled wider as she saw the panicked faces of her guests, her witch’s hat staying in place as she shook with laughter. “Hope you enjoyed your gift, next time it’s going to be even better.”
“Ring a, a ring o' roses,
A pocket full o' posies-
Atishoo, atishoo you fall down!”
She giggled once more before vanishing into the dense forest, a cat following behind her it’s amber eyes seeming to laugh at what he had seen. Soon she’ll come back…Soon she’ll have her revenge. Soon.
THE END?
