Stark

I was in the middle of The House of Hades when Jarvis interrupts me. "Sir, your new intern is here. Should Miss Potts send her up?"

I frowned. When have I ever had interns? And besides, I was at the part where all those arai curses were pretty much killing Percy. I didn't want the boy to die!

"Send this intern up, Jarvis." I commanded, sighing in annoyance as I grabbed a tissue for a temporary bookmark.

A few minutes later, the elevator dinged and out came a somewhat familiar blonde. Her stormy gray eyes scanned my favorite living room of the many in my, I mean, the Avengers, tower. They then landed on me as I got up from the couch and was heading towards the drink fridge.

"I'm too young to drink, so a water would be fine, Mr. Stark."

I whirled on her, my annoyance growing. "I am the boss of my own company, and I don't need someone to order me around, especially a dumb blonde intern as yourself."

The girl scowled. Then I realized why she looked so familiar. She was that creepy fangirl of mine that managed to knockout Clint!

"Why are you even here, anyway, Miss....?"

"Chase. Annabeth Chase. I signed up for a random internship at my school, but I didn't know I was going to get your business."

I sneaked a glance at the book on the coffee table next to the couch. That name.... Wasn't an Annabeth in the first book series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians? And appeared in the second series, The Heroes of Olympus, which I was currently near the end of?

A gasp escaped Miss Chase. She lunged for the book I had been reading, and thumbed quickly through it. "That scribe..... Why did we even trust him?" She muttered under her breath.

"I was reading that! Put it down so I don't lose my spot!" I yelled at her. She glared at me and gently put the book back.

"Mr. Stark, are you aware that the agency you work for and the so-called group of heroes you take part in are stepping into something way over your heads?"

I shrugged. "So? What's so over-our-heads about some teen terrorist group?"

Miss Chase shook her head. "We are not even close to terrorists. We're just a group of rather troubled teens."

I snorted. "Troubled teens like you don't go blowing up national monuments or causing natural disasters."

"So, as your intern, what jobs do you want me to do? Designing buildings, or hacking into your girlfriend's computer, or fixing your AI....?"

Wow. Talk about a subject change.

"None of those things need to be done. Except, the girlfriend one is a possibility. What are your strong suits that I can apply to my tower?"

"I am an aspiring architect, so any building you want designed or remodeled I can help with. I also am good with math and science, so any lab experiments you need me to do is fine."

I tapped my glass with a finger, thinking. "How about you look at some blueprints I have?" I reached under the table and grabbed the blueprints to my new beach house, handing them to Miss Chase.

She sat down on the couch. "Hmm....."

Piper

"Piper, do you know where Annabeth is?" Leo asked.

I nodded. "She went to the Avengers Tower for her internship."

He frowned. "Since when did she have that?"

Percy shrugged. "She signed up for a random internship at her school, not knowing which business or company she would be an intern for. Turns out she gets the place owned by one of the guys who were fighting us the other day. And it happened to be the one she went all fangirl-crazy on."

Leo raised an eyebrow. "Jealous, Perce?"

Percy hit him lightly on the shoulder.

"Ow! That hurt! Water Boy doesn't know his own strength!"

Percy hit Leo again. "Don't call me Water Boy."

Leo rubbed his shoulder, giving Percy a hurt look. Percy got up from the bench we were sitting at and went to go challenge Clarisse to a quick duel.

"Hey, Beauty Queen, have you been interviewed by the camp's scribe, Riordan, yet? He just asked me the other day about the travels I had with Calypso after I freed her from Ogygia."

I frowned. "Yeah. He asked me for my point of view on the last stretch of our quest and of the last battle versus Gaea."

Leo watched Percy and Clarisse fight with a thoughtful face. "That man knows way too much about our lives."

Jason and I were on a nice walk on the beach when Percy ran up to us, a frantic look in his eyes. Much like the time Annabeth left to follow the Mark of Athena in Rome.

"Guys, I think Stark kidnapped Annabeth!"

Jason looked at Percy like he was crazy. I frowned in surprise. "Why would he do that?"

Percy grabbed my arm almost pleadingly. "Because she's smart and she has connections to me."

The waves were started to get bigger. Oh crap.

"Come on, let's go save Percy's Wise Girl." I towed Jason behind me and Percy led the way, the waves getting no smaller.

We ran into Annabeth walking back from the tower. She managed to calm the frantic Percy down.

"It's okay, Seaweed Brain. I was just late leaving because I was shoved more blueprints about Mr. Stark's new suits."

Leo grabbed the rolled-up blueprints sticking out of her backpack. He had tagged along, since he was, as he called it, "couple-creeping" on Jason and I. "Ooh, cool!"

Annabeth snatched them away from Leo. "Don't touch. I promised I would be careful with those."

Percy wrapped an arm around her waist. "I was worried. Thought a monster got you."

She shook her head. "Nope. Just a little late, that's all."

Jason sighed. "How'd it go, other than being late?"

Annabeth shrugged. "It's okay. I managed to avoiding using any of Stark's fancy tech, and I did overhear him talking to someone on the phone. My name and Percy's were mentioned a bunch of times in that conversation."

"Just be careful, Wise Girl." Percy said, kissing the top of her head.
