There are really better ways of doing this. Asking someone you barely know over media for companionship is not one. You should go socialize with people and make friends, then you can see if you can take those friendships and make them something more.

Lots of people have this problem. It's not that there doing anything wrong it's just that they are scared that they will embarrass themselves or people won't like them. The only way to get recognized is show the world who you are and your passions. Don't care about what everyone thinks. Let people who like you like you and let the haters hate. Just try hard enough at something and I am sure someone will notice you
