What is your name?

Moniren Belen

How old are you?

I'm 22 (:

What inspired you to write your first book?

My first book... uh, that's looong ago, it's not even here and it's in Spanish. And Zac Efron inspired me. I just wanted to write a story about him, to have fun and maybe bring some joy to other readers. I haven't stopped since then, though I don't write about him anymore. Nevertheless, he will always be my muse.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I have many, one of them is Julie Kagawa. She is sweet and really caring towards her fans, she is freaking talented. The evolution of her characters are so great, it's admirable. Her writing is so beautiful and descripting and it never gets boring. Her ideas are absolutely brilliant! I wish one day I could be as great of an author as her.

What is your favourite theme/genre to write about?

Romance, I always write romance. I like to combine it with fantasy.

Do you see writing as a career?

If you could work with any author who would it be?

Definitely Julie Kagawa, or Marianne Curley or Marissa Meyer. I idolise them.

Do you use real-life facts based on true stories?

Yes, I analyse people all the time so my characters are realistic, I sometimes consider psychologic theories to make them accurate.

Did you ever think you'd be, where you are right now?

Never! I've been posting stories for many years, but I never thought that so many people would like what I do.

What advice would you give to people who "run out of creativity" when writing?

To read a book, go out, watch a movie, take a nap. Sometimes it's just because we're tired and we need to change a bit. Even re-arrenging your room works!

Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?

Not really. I only suffer from laziness. If I don't write, it's because I don't have time or I just don't feel like it. I always plan everything before I start writing the story, so I know what comes next when I'm writing the chapter, that always makes it easier. 

Do you have any advice for other writers?

To never give up. It might be hard, maybe people will criticise you and tell you to stop, but if you love what you do, never stop. If you're not great now, you can only improve. 

Anything fun about yourself you want your fans to know?

Uhhh... Fun? I'm not exactly the fun type but I guess... Maybe they should know that I love High School Musical. That no matter I'm 50, I'll still love it, sing all the songs and dance! Although I'm a terrible dancer hehee

How would you describe yourself?

As a weird, crazy girl who doesn't care what people might think of her. I am me and I don't change for anyone. Never. I have my convictions and if I believe something, I always have a reason behind. I'm carefree and I love animals more than I love people.
