In 2010 the mens team set the stage for the wonens team by having a great performance in the world cup. The womens team lost the world cup by 1 piont in front of millions. It acually helped more by creating anticipation for the next world cup. In 2014 the mens team had an even better performance than 2010. The womens team at the perfect time, wins the world cups with at least 50% more people watching. The gaining popularity of mls is very helpful by having poeple turn espn on friday night and see soccer. You could barely find soccer on paid sports channels two years ago! But with success comes problems, the fifa corruption scandal were 15 fifa officals (including the president)were suspended for good. Ruining some of that work that it took.
