Safe in a room,
like a butterfly in its cocoon.
She roams around freely,
but is lost in her thoughts really.
She looks at the mess
and wonders how it's come to this.
With ruffled up blankets,
and tossed around jackets,
she looks at the door,
then back towards the floor.
If she leaves now,
it'll be hell.
But if she chooses to stay,
her mind might just ruin her day.
Toward the end,
the angles have sound.
She whispers, "I'm safe in this room, just like a butterfly in its cocoon."••••
this poem is my favorite. the reason why i wrote this was because i was asked to by a therapist. it was a challenge but i personally think that's why this one came out the best.
comment if you have a clue as to what this poem is saying.
