We were carrying about fifty bags when Natalie finally decided we should already eat. I, for one, am so hungry that i went inside the fast food chain running and i noticed several heads turned. What? Im hungry.
“i wonder where Matt is right now” Natalie said after we finished ordering and made our way to our chosen table.
“why dont you text him? he should come here”
“yeah, sure”
After she finished typing, she looked and smiled so wide like she’s planning something so devious.
“what?”
“guess where were going after this?”
“uh, home?”
“no, dummy! Were going to the parlor!”
uh-oh.
“you know what nic, i think you should start to slim down a bit”
“yeah, i think so too”
You see, im a bit chubby so im really planning to work out a little. Its part of my, you know, ‘make-over plan’.
“oh hey, look! Is that Kyle?” Natalie pointed somewhere behind me and i turned my head to look. I saw Kyle eating with a girl with her back facing me.
“i bet thats Mary Gibson. I heard theyre dating” Natalie said. I looked down at my food and sighed. I felt something unrecognizable. Hurt? No, hurt is not the right word. Jealous, maybe.
Wait.
What?
Me? Jealous? Pffft! Thats just absurd. I AM NOT JEALOUS. Why would i be? I cannot be jealous. No i am not jealous. Of course not!
“Nic?” i jumped, startled when Natalie said my name.
“are you okay?” she asked and i nodded.
Kyle and Mary. Hmm. Mary is a dancer too. She has a gorgeous curly hair and adorable eyes. She has the perfect tan, i might add, and she has killer body figure. I turned my head towards them and saw them stand up. I spotted kyle’s hand holding Mary’s while walking outside the restaurant.
Okay, there it is again. There’s something piercing my heart.
What? Ew. NO!
“thats really weird” i started saying. “the other day i saw Kyle and Britney walk together. Kyle really is a player at heart”
Natalie nodded in agreement. “mmhhm”
I was about to concentrate on my food again when someone from behind covered my eyes. i smelled that familiar perfume and i know who it is right away.
“grow up Matt.” I joked and he removed his hands from my eyes.
“hello ladies. How’s the shopping going?” he sat next to Natalie while eating the food we ordered for him.
“its been great. And since youre here, you will carry our bags. Okay? Natalie said with a very serious face.
“but-“
“ah-ah. No buts. Or else we will let you pay all these food right here” i said.
Matt sighed and i fought the urge to laugh.
“you know what? You two are the most loving, caring, kind friends in the entire world” he said sarcastically.
Natalie and I both rolled our eyes and said in unison “oh, we know”
