Dragneel Brother's Backstory

The Beginning

AN: This story is a Fairy Tail fan fiction story. I don't own Fairy Tail, or anything associated with Fairy Tail. [Also, since I have school, chapters might not be updated very often]

400 years ago, a young boy by the name of Zeref Dragneel, he had a brother, He and his brother where very young, Zeref was 9 and his little brother Natsu was only 2. Their parents had died very recently. Since they were both so young still they had no idea how to survive with out their parents.

The next morning Zeref slowly woke up, the sun shining on his face. He slowly turned to his brother, who was still sleeping.

"Aw... That's so cute." Zeref said calmly as he watched his brother sleep. Natsu woke suddenly and started to cry loudly.

"Uh oh! uhhh.. w-what should I do?" Zeref started to panic. Natsu cried louder. Zeref picks up his crying little brother, and tries to get him to stop crying.

"Would you like help young man?" a mysterious elderly woman's voice said.

"Huh? W-who are you?" Zeref asked a little bit timidly.

"Oh, me? I'm just a woman walking through, I heard the baby crying, so I came to see if something was wrong." The old woman said.

"Well, if you can just help me get my little brother to stop crying, that would be really helpful ma'am." Zeref requested.

"Sure, I'm happy to help." The elderly woman replied to Zeref, as she picked up Natsu and slowly rocked him back to sleep. Natsu closed his eyes and fell back asleep.

"Oh! Thank you so much ma'am!" Zeref said to the woman.

"You're welcome young man. I am happy I was able to help you out."

The Woman replied softly, making sure not to wake up Natsu. "Do you two live here all by yourselves?" She asked Zeref.

"Yes... We've been on our own since our parents died recently." Zeref said with his eyes starting to water a little bit.

"Oh.. that's awful." The lady said and walked over to Zeref and gave him a hug. "If you like, I could help you with raising your little brother." The woman said in a soft gentle tone. "Y-yes please. I would really appreciate it ma'am." Zeref said to her and smiled.
