"Hey, you!"
Pausing her conversation, Emma turned to look behind her. Surrounded by his friends, stood Adrian Arbor, his faced screwed up into an expression of rage. Emma scoffed.
"Come on let's go." Whispered her friend Karen, who gently tugged on her arm. Emma pulled out of her grasp.
"What?" Emma spit out. She turned to face him, ignoring her friends beside her. People in the hallway were starting to stop, forming a circle around the two students.
"Why the hell did you post that?" Adrian yelled, holding up his phone. He walked towards her, pulling away from his friend Coy who was by his side. Emma walked up to meet him.
"I didn't post anything." Emma said, confused. Adrian laughed.
"Yeah, sure you didn't. I've never touched Jessica. Why the hell would you say that?" Adrian said, rage evident in his voice.
"I didn't say anything! I have no idea what you're talking about!" yelled Emma. She was getting irritated. His anger was rubbing off on her, causing her rage to flare up.
"Don't lie to me. Why the hell did you do that?" Adrian yelled.
"I didn't, you ass! Why would I care about your stupid girlfriend?" Emma yelled. The hallway around them was silent; all students were entranced watching the action. Adrian said nothing, but his face was beet red and his eyes squinted with fury.
Before Emma could react, Adrian's hand whipped up and struck her across the face. The slap echoed in the hallway, causing uproar from the students. Emma's mouth was wide open in shock, which quickly turned in to unmatchable rage.
"You really shouldn't have done that." Emma hissed. Her fist came up and collided with Adrian's face, whipping his head to the side. Her left fist rose up and cracked on his other cheek, knocking him to the floor. Adrian struggled to get up, but Emma planted another punch on his chest, slamming him into the floor. She knelt on top of him, punching is head into the ground. Adrian brought his elbow up and hit her cheek, knocking her off of him. He moved quickly, standing up before Emma could get off the ground. He kicked her in the chest, sending her back to the floor. Then suddenly, arms were around his shoulders. He was being pulled back, his feet knocked out from under him. His knees hit the ground and his hands were bound behind his back. He looked for Emma, who was in the same position, kneeling across from him. Her face was red, but she wasn't out of breath. She didn't look hurt either. Adrian felt the opposite. His lip was bleeding and he had a cut where the skin had broken on his forehead. He felt like his head had gone through a meat grinder.
"Go to class!" yelled the man holding Emma, as the bell rung. The crowd watching began to disperse, muttering and staring. The pair were brought to their feet and carried out of the hall. Emma's friends wouldn't meet her eyes, and neither would Adrian's. They lost themselves in the crowd, something Adrian and Emma couldn't do.
The teachers holding the pair dragged them to the front of the school, past the main office and into a side hallway lined with offices.
"Where are we going?" asked Emma. The teachers looked at each other with disappointment. They didn't answer her, but simply brought them to another hallway lined with offices. However this hallway exited into the back of the front desk. The wall was lined with chairs. They sat Emma and Adrian down on opposite sides and placed a teacher in between. The other teacher knocked on the only closed door in the hall. Heads popped out from the other doors, looks of confusion spreading from face to face. Mr. Collum, the athletic director, was bold enough to ask.
