Chapter 3
For the rest of the day all that was going through my head was, Cody, Cody, Cody! I couldn't stop thinking about how evil and devious she was. Yet she still made out to be some kind of angel. How was I the bad guy? I hadn't done anything wrong!
On the way to 5th period I bumped into Lee. "I saw what Cody did to you. That was really mean." Just rub it in a little more why don't you.
"I know I'm just so confused. How does everyone believe her?" I just didn't get it.
"Her dad is the Principal. Everyone has got to believe her, or she gets them expelled."
We walked into our math classroom and as I was about to take the seat at the back so no one would notice me, guess who pushed me down. Yep, Cody. She literally grabbed hold of my shirt and threw me down and she made it look like an accident by 'helping' me up. "I'm so sorry. Clumsy me!" She added and good-girl giggle on the end of it. She sat down right in the seat I was going to sit on. Just to annoy her I sat in the seat next to her instead.
"Oh, don't worry about it. I guess we're even now right?" I played along with all the good-girl acting going on in the conversation we were having if it hadn't of been for the people sitting in front of us, I would definitely have punched her in her hard, cold, plastic face.
"Do you mind moving? Harry was going to sit there." She smiled sweetly at me as though we were putting on a show for the whole class.
"But Harry is sat with Lee, and there is nowhere else for me to sit." Her smile faded into a frown. Maths was easy, it's all the same. I think Cody only knows how to count to 10, I bet she gets 2+2 wrong. I chuckled to myself, which made Cody and a few other people stare at me. "What?" I asked acting dumb.
"Your so weird." Cody shook her head at me.
At the end of the lesson, Cody pushed me down again butjustleft me on the floor this time. She went to link arms with Harry. The only person to help me was Lee. Cody turned around and mouthed 'Watch your back.' To me and Lee. she probably thought I was scared, far from it.
"Why is she so mean? I just don't get it." Lee shook his head smiling.
"no one does. But you lasting longer than the last new girl, she only lasted two hours here." Should I feel proud of myself. I wasn't just wanted her to stop. It was getting really annoying. But I'm not going to show her I'm weak.
I looked down at the floor and saw a piece of paper covered with pictures of Cody and had her name written all over it.
"What's this?" I give Lee the paper.
"Cody's birthday party invitation. She has invited nearly the whole school." Let me guess, we weren't invited.
"Are we?" Lee nodded.
"Unfortunately, everyone must attend. It's really stupid, she will be turning 14 and she's having a house party with alcohol. My brother doesn't even do that and he is 17." Lee scrunched the paper into a ball and kicked it down the hall.
"I might go, just to pee her off." I smirked to myself. Lee looked at me as though it was a really bad idea.
On the walk home I bumped into Alisa. "Hi." I waved and smiled at her. She looked at me and walked off quickly. I ran after her. "Why are you ignoring me. Is it because of what Cody said. Because if it is, she is totally making it up." Alisa stopped.
"How do you know what Cody said?"
"Because I was in the locker rooms when she said it." I sighed. "What she is feeding into your brain is all lies!" Alisa was one of my only friends at this school and i intended on keeping her.
