Sorry guys. This story is going to be off wattpad for a while. I'm going to edit it, make it longer, and overall just try to finish it.

Here is a little example and there are two different scenes.

Jace POV:

I leaned up against the big oak tree and busied myself sharpening a stick. It was small, but the end point would be fashioned so I could use the wood for a dagger. Something in the corner of my eye scurried across the mossy forest floor and I thrust my arm out letting the stick fly through the air. The aim was true, but it merely bounced off the animal and like the useless thing it was, it lay motionless.  I swore underneath my breath and wished for a real metal blade. But those were out of my reach, so I would have to rely on my snares for now. The only metal weapon we had owned, was broken protecting ourselves from a stray wolf. We probably would have been killed if it wasn’t for the animal had already been wounded. We made boots out of his hide.

I was hungry and bored, so I walked to the animal trail Reid had found earlier. It was probably a rabbit’s.  I decided to set up a snare here and looked around once. It was a perfect place. I hid my scent by using the bladder of a previous kill to cover up my scent wherever I touched. It was gross, but there wasn’t any soft mud to do the job today. I used a hardwood sapling and bent it over, securing it. The noose wasn’t of the best quality, being made out of whatever I could find but it would do. I left some of the honey I had found behind the trap so it wouldn’t interfere with the snare.

I wiped my hands on my pants, old ones of mothers’, and set off on my way to check all of my other traps. I had three others set up, but only one of them had caught something, a squirrel. Another one looked like something had found it but broken free, while the last snare had been deserted.

....

I heard a shout in the distance. I sat up and froze. Not again! I stomped out the fire and whispered furiously. “Wake up!” Reid slowly opened his eyes. A gunshot. Alarmed, Reid shook mother awake. Reid gathered our supplies and mother helped me stomp out the fire. “Run!” I sprinted, with Reid and mother not far behind me.

“Over here! Embers!” The voices were nearing us. Suddenly I heard a thump and I turned to see mother tripped in a snare. My snare. The one I had set up today. “Go! Don’t wait for me!” Her eyes were wild with tears. “I’ll always find you!” She yelled.  I screamed, frozen again, but Reid grabbed my arm and forced me forward. “No! No! No!” My throat was raw and I was terrified. I saw men surround her, and I fainted.
