The Hale's were notorious in the supernatural world, as a family pack. Their werewolf genes allowed them to become stronger, not only physically but spiritually and mentally. As the family grew in numbers, so did the pack. Cameron considered herself lucky to be a part of both, at least that's what she thought before everything went to shit.

Memories of her family were precious to Cameron, especially her siblings. Although she held them close in her heart, it hurt her to see them. It was a reminder of the ones they'd lost, which Cameron hates to think about. Nevertheless, she was the type to move mountains for her family. No matter the cost she would always be there for the people she loved.

The "Welcome to Beacon Hills" sign pulled Cameron out of her thoughts, feeling her heart pound a bit quicker.
She had finally arrived.

In reality, Cameron should hate Beacon Hills. It's the place she's lost most of her family and where all those bad memories were born but she can't help but love the trees that surrounded her childhood home, hugging the house as if it were trying to shield them from the outside world. The fog arrived at dusk, sending shivers down a young Cameron and waking her up to help her mother with the morning chores. The house her family built many years ago to protect them.
She couldn't deny that Beacon Hills was home.

Cameron had paid the taxi, watching them drive off while she swung her duffle bag over her shoulder and turned towards the old rusted house. Before the fire, she had many good memories of Beacon Hills, of the house. Laura would teach them how to focus their hearing to figure out where the Christmas gifts were going to be hidden. Their mother would catch them every single time. Derek was the typical brother, scaring his sisters and getting into fights with them. Their mother loved them all, but she had a special bond with Derek that the girls never understood.

The memories of her family made Cameron smile, "I wasn't sure you were coming" she heard a voice. Derek stuffed his hands in the pockets of his jacket while he stepped off the steps of the burnt house in front of her. "And miss out on seeing my favorite brother?" she smiles wider, skipping towards him as he chuckled. "I'm your only brother" he replies, embracing her in a hug. "You're still my favorite," Cameron says, kissing his cheek before hugging her brother.

It was true. She was left with two siblings after the fire and Laura had become distant. Cameron understood of course, after their mother's passing Laura had become Alpha and had to protect the pack and family. It was a lot of responsibility, which she wasn't ready for especially after the traumatic experience with the fire. Derek was different. One look at him and many would think he was the cold and distant one but he was the one who stayed with Cameron. He wouldn't say it out loud but she knew she was his favorite too.

"So, you mind telling me why you've dragged me out here?" Cameron asks, pulling away from their hug. Derek had left her a cryptic message in the middle of the night about plans to return to Beacon Hills as soon as possible, nothing more. He grabs her duffle bag and shrugs, "About that". She huffed out a sigh and followed him towards the house, knowing they were possibly in trouble.

It was roughly about a year since Cameron had seen both Laura and Derek. They'd been so caught up with the pack, and Cameron wanted to stay in New York. She stayed with a family friend and went to school like a normal teenager, which is what she wanted. Cameron believed that's what her mother would've wanted for her, instead of running from hunters.

"I'm not going to tell you anything yet, mainly because I don't want to worry you" Derek starts, putting her duffle bag on the steps outside of the house. "In case something happens, I need you here so I can protect you," he says. Cameron sits on the steps while her eyebrows crease in thought, "Wouldn't I be protected better if I was still in New York?" she ponders, looking up at her brother. "Again, happy to see my big brother but I can protect myself," Cameron tells him.
