Chapter twenty-nine

Chapter 29

            He scorched down on the floor trying to cool his temper. When he was fine he came back up stairs and climbed into bed. He held me and said "I know you’re awake" he was good at knowing things I turned around and look at him.

"Joseph he...means no harm" I said softly.

Connor smiled to hear my voice "I don't know what to say to you to express the deep emotions I have for you"

"in a way there is" I said softly I came close to Connor.

His breath was hot and it made me sweat I remember the feeling. "In what way Jess...in what way can I break you from this?" he ask.

            I came close to his lips and said "kiss me" he kissed me and I felt alive physically and mentally.

It was the longest kiss I've ever felt Connor moved his hands all around. He stop, "this is wrong" he said out of breath.

"No...keep going" we kiss again.

I was feeling like myself again it was like magic. I loved it and hated it. "Do you feel better?" ask

Connor I opened my eyes "I have never felt so alive" I whispered. He smiled and we'd fell asleep.

            The next morning came and the sun was just coming up. I had the craziest dream; Connor was fighting and I felt death on me I screamed and screamed for help but it's all I remember. I look out the window to see Connor doing pull ups on the tree. He was heavy enough to make the tree branch bend and break and it was a big tree branch. "God damn it!" he shouted

I giggled "awww!" I sighed. He looked up at me looking out the window to him and smiled. As if I made the pain go away.

            My pain felt like it went away. But I'll miss my aunt dearly I'm on my own now. She'll guide me I know it, I turned around and Connor was standing in my room he look very buff. "Good morning" said Connor

"Morning" I said breathless he put his shirt on I was cursing in my head.

Yeah! I was back to myself alright!

I feel a lot stronger.

"There's breakfast downstairs with your name on it" said Connor I zoomed down the stair well I was starved. I didn't care if it was meat or not I wanted food.

            After a good couple of plates I was good. I felt more alive, "do werewolves live forever?" I ask Connor.

"Most of them do" he said

"it's your life Jess, live it the way you want, you wanna go in the U.N. I'm all for it if you wanna be a wolf....well I can't say it won’t be easy".

"I wanna live forever" I said "you’re not ready Jess" he said. "I wanna be with you forever" I said.

            "Or do you wanna be with Joseph forever?" he said my heart pounded out of my chest.

I still loved Joseph "you still love him Jessica...your confused between me and him I can't allow myself to love you knowing you love someone else" said Connor.

I understood I must give myself some time "for now I'm preparing for battle to take my place in my clan" said Connor.

I kept fiddling around with my fork. “If you fight you might surely die...and I’ll never see you again" I whispered.

Connor came over and stroke my cheek "never ever shall I die".

            I got up and said "I choose you"

"that's what you say, but does your heart say it?"

I put his hand against it and said "you know it better than anyone else" he closed his eyes and opened them making them glow red

"I must get back to work" he said walking out of the kitchen.

            Connor walked outside and caught a sent coming from the national forest. He smelt the air and started running to the forest jumping over the logs and rocks he stopped in the middle of it. He smelt the air again the smell was at its strongest.

"Vampire" he said his muscles expanded and his finger nails extended "come out, come out where ever you are" said Connor.

"Arm's down Connor" said a voice; Joseph was standing on a log.

Connor went back to human form "please I come in peace as a friend" said Joseph. He jumped off the log.

            Connor couldn't stand the stench of Joseph.

"I don't mean any harm" said Joseph

 "your kind takes the lives of those like Jessica” said Connor.

I'm not like my people" said Joseph

"is she alright? Is she safe?" ask Joseph

"she is okay" said Connor with no emotion.

"What are we gonna do?...you’re back" said Joseph.

"We can't have her both it's not right" said Connor.

"I love her to much I want her happy" said Joseph

. "She is confused she is stubborn...she won’t let you go" said Connor.

            "I know she won’t" said Joseph

"if you want your clan back you’re gonna need a lot of help" said Joseph

"I've seen your kind fight against us...very impressive" said Joseph.

"What are you a couch?" said Conner

Joseph giggled "I've just seen you all" said Joseph nodding with a smile.

"Connor! Connor!" I shouted.

"Jessica. Oh how I miss that voice" said Joseph softly.

I jumped over logs and over puddles. I saw them both standing there my heart jump out of my chest.

            "Joseph?" I said approaching him

"Jessica" he said softly I hugged him tightly his skin made me shiver.

Connor got angry "Jessica if your cold don't hug for too long" said Joseph.

I look at Connor and remembered I have him too I took a step back from Joseph and look at Connor then Joseph. "Jessica, look at me" said Joseph

"I can't keep you...Jessica, you belong to..." Connor walked away for our private time.

"You belong to Connor" said Joseph.

            "I love you" I said

"I know you do but I'm not something you need you can't be with me...never forget I love you I will always love you" said Joseph tears streamed down my face.

My heart raced faster "your breaking up with me" I cried softly "no Jessica no, I'm letting you go to another person to be safer, I'm not safe" said Joseph.

I cried harder. "I can't stand here while you make her cry you, life sucker!" shouted Connor running up to him I put my hand between Joseph and Connor.

            "NO!" I shouted giving all my strength

I look at Connor and said "if you hurt him you'll have to hurt me too" I said the words that came out of my mouth were understandable Connor's eyes widen.

I look at Joseph and said "don't leave me, we can be friends" I said.

Joseph smiled slightly "that is...if Connor lets me" said Joseph.

Connor's face relaxed, "Yes" said Connor I hugged him in joy.

"I love you my baby" I said "awaw, I love you too" he said softly. Tears of joy ran down my face as Joseph wiped away a lonely tear from his cheek. Seeing me crying helped him cry.
