ENJOY!!!

The wind and rain pelted his back

Snarls and howls filled his mind with shame

I need to get out of here, get myself back on track

They made him feel so much pain he couldn’t even remember his name

The leaves fluttered around him freely

They taunted him and played with him teasingly.

Running in only shorts the wind made him shiver

Water slapped against his feet, it was from the river

He was shaking out of control

The more he shook the faster he ran

He looked like a scared rabbit running to its hole

His feet was sticking to the moist red sand

Branches snapped in the back of him

They were gaining on him ready to pounce

His eyes were changing color, the light growing dim

His body was telling him to shift, shift, shift

He came to a cliff

Pebbles fell and he watched them bounce

He could jump or he could surrender

Surrender wasn’t an option; he wouldn’t, not now, not ever

He chose to jump

To his surprise they followed

Down they fell tumbling and limp,

He finally stopped, to weak to move giving his lungs

One last pump

Before black filled his eyes and he was swallowed

Hm-mm he thought I would love some shrimp

He was oblivious to the outside world

Into a ball he was curled

They started to wake

Moving slowly and quietly like predators

They moved in circling him their paws made no sound

He opened his eyes but it was too late

It happened so fast all he saw was a blur, a cloud

Their eyes ere filled with disgust and hate

They attacked and showed no mercy

But a crack rang loud in their ears

They ignored it and it happened again so loud and clear

Over and over and over

If possible time seemed to be moving slower

It’s not him they thought surely

They were wrong

They underestimated him being so strong

There in front the stood a wolf

So beautiful with a pelt so black

He could blend in with the shadows dancing around them

His eyes were black with streaks of red and white

Very faint but easy to see he was glowing with light

Now they knew it was true

They knew if they ran he would hunt them down

With the night so clear and blue

If that’s what it took to get back his crown

He showed no mercy, no fear

They pleaded and cried begging their lives could he spare

He watched in amusement and fascination

They were scared; he could wipe out a whole nation

He was disappointed he wanted a fight

They deciding fight or flight

So they ran off into the hills

The sounds of their howls gave him the chills

He trotted through forest to the lake

The wind blew softly against his face

Behind him his paws left no trace

Silently, he changed back to his wolf form

Out of the woods came his new pack

They looked like a painting gone wrong

They sat down and looked up to him for what to do

But he had no clue

So he threw his head up and howled hid song

As he sang the first verse they followed with the second

Singing the sad melody

Far in the distance others sang along

The pack ran together as one

They ran and ran until they reached the sun.
