Jack POV.
"What are we gonna do?" Mother Nature asks and we all look at North.
"How should I know? Manny hasn't talked to me yet." He says with his hands up in a shrug. As if that was his cue, Manny moves into the window and shines on all of us. I hear a deep voice ringing in my ears.
"An even bigger problem has arrived, instead of just the children being in danger, it is the teenagers as well. Cupid, Cupidia, and Pitch have all joined forces. They plan on scaring the children, giving them heart-break, and causing hurt through love. You must stop them to keep this world happy." Manny says.
"Well, at least now we know what to do." I say.
"Yeah, but we have to find out where they are first." Bunny points out. I start thinking.
"Maybe we can go to Burgess and find a kid who has been infected by Cupid. Then we can bring them here and try to figure out what the cure is." Tooth suggests.
"That's a good idea." I say nodding.
"Then that's what we have to do." North declares. "Everyone, to Burgess!"
Mother Nature takes off running, she's so fast she's a blur. North heads to the sleigh and Sandy makes his plane. Tooth and I fly out the nearest window while Bunny steps into one of his tunnels.
It feels good to be outside again. I roll onto my back and put my arms behind my head and one of my legs on the other.
"I'm glad you're back." Tooth says breaking the silence.
"Me too, thanks for not getting me out." I say looking at her.
"Any time." She says. I decide this is too awkward, and, flipping into normal position, grab her hand, and we dive downward to Burgess and meet the others. Everyone is there except for Sandy. Tooth and I land, still holding hands, and were soon followed by Sandy.
"Jack, go find Jamie." North tells me. I nod and fly off, its early so I have to go to his room. I fly to his window and try to get his attention.
BOOP, BOOP, BOOP-BOOP-BOOP
"Jamie..... Jamie!" I whisper yell. Just cause he is the only one who believes in me besides Sophie, doesn't mean that I won't wake anyone up. Jamie rolls over and looks at me. His face lights up and he gets out of bed and opens the window.
"Hey, Jack." He says.
"Hi." I say flying in. "Sorry for bugging you, I know it's kinda early but it's important."
"What is it?" He asks, clearly curious.
"Come with me." I say and pick him up. I fly out the window and make towards the other Guardians. It only takes a minute or so.
"Ok, so what is this about?" He asks after I set him down.
"Has anybody you know been acting different lately?" I ask. Jamie's face instantly droops. "Yeah." He says rather sadly.
"Who?" I ask.
"Pippa..." He says. (The girl with the red hair) I put my hand on his shoulder.
"You like her, don't you?" I whisper. He nods, slightly smiling.
"Well, not to worry! We are gonna fix it!" I announce, standing up and putting my hands on my hips, looking heroic. I crouch back down and whisper to him. "I promise."
"Where is Pippa?" Mother Nature asks.
"At the park with Montey." Jamie said Montey's name as if it was the most discusting thing in the world.
"Alright, then let's goooooooooooo." I say. I pick Jamie up by the arm-pits and fly to the park, Tooth following close behind. I land a few feet away from Pippa and Montey.
"Oh, Jack, I forgot to tell you..." Jamie says.
"Tell me what?" I ask.
"Uh....... erm......... um......." He stammers, searching for the right words.
"Well, why you figure out what you want to tell me, I'm gonna say hi to Pippa and Montey." I say and start flying away.
"No! Jack! Wait!" He hollers behind me. I ignore him. There is nothing wrong with sayin hi to your friends. I think to myself. I land right next to the two kids.
"Hey Pippa, what you guys doin?" I ask. At that moment, Montey makes a snowball and aims at Pippa. She screams and runs away laughing. I jump up to get out of the way and fly and re-land in front of her. She keeps running right towards me.
Don't worry, she'll know to stop before she runs into me. I think.
Even though it feels like it's been forever, it actually happens really fast.
"Hey, woah, slow down kid." I say when she gets closer. Then, feeling the same feeling I have felt for hundreds of years, Pippa and Montey run right through me. I stand up immediately and look at Jamie. He looks right back with a sad expression.
My sadness mixes with an unknown anger, and I shoot up into the sky. Knowing the way by heart, I soar to my pond.
