Let me tell you a story.

There were once five entities in existence, they were powerful and strange. They where gods in their own right,

One was Earth, homely looking and the basis o the five. It is fitting that she was created first. She controlled the ground under our feet and her women's intuition allowed her to hone her skills without help.

The second born was Water, he was soft with a hidden but powerful strength an very close to his older sister. He could make the tiniest stream into a tsunami. He was smart and well learned so he flourished under his sister's guidance.

The third was Fire, female twin to Water as they were created only seconds apart versus the years between the others. Her personality was fierce and terrifying. Though she was not as attuned to her studies as her brother she was still bright and smart. She was the siblings sword just as Water was their shield.

The fourth and most willy was Wind. He pulled pranks and messed around. Everything he did came easy to him and he was born wielding his talents. A natural born spy and the silliest in the group.

And finally after years of grueling pain The Universe finally gave birth to the last of The Elementals, Spirit. She was a young child compared to the rest and could do everything they could and more. She pulled pranks with Wind, fought fearsome battles with Fire, had logical debates with Water, and provided Earth with a break from her duty to her other siblings.

But Spirit was lonely.

She went to her siblings, crying," I wish for more friends,"

And so she got her wish.

The Universe heard her plea and answered. She made creatures that resembled her dear children and her husband The Galaxy helped house them.

Sad that they did not notice their little sisters pain, they each offered a peace of their soul to Spirit's playground so they could always support her.

Earth because the base and grew all manner of  beautiful things for her sister.

Water's offering was named after him just like everyone else's. The liquid took the smoothest and most logical course, just like Water does.

Fire offered her fiery soul and created mortal fire. It could burn and kill showing her strength, but just like Fire it could also show you kindness and warmth.

Wind offered her mortal side as well. Her wind made sure everything ran smoothly and got to have a little fun along the way.

Spirit's parents gave her the greatest gift of all though. They place inhabitants on the planet the siblings had created.

Spirit was ecstatic at first. She had friends and a loving family and she could talk to the humans, as she called them, anytime she wanted.

But then the humans had greed and lust and envy enter there heart. This bore the Seven Deadly Sins and  with their help humans slowly killed her brothers  and sisters.

She cried and grieved until her parents came to her and bonded permanently with the planet in an effort to fix the last remnants of three of their children. Sadly it was no use.

Earth had been slowly cut up and carved into until permanent scars were left.

Water had been poisoned, blocked, and put so many places he didn't belong he lost his mind.

Fire, which had once resided in one place, was cut up and contained. Her cries of pain only heard by her family.
To others it was the calming snap and crackle of the fire.

Wind was burned, poisoned, and forced apart to the point of being contorted into different places and temperatures.

And Spirit was so distraught she curled in a ball and cried.

After the planet and her siblings had been destroyed Spirit's emotions hardened.

Hundreds of years later she forgets who she is, why she is there, and where she is. She only sits, curled up in the same spot, feeling distant pity for the four elements trapped in that ever binding hell.

And The Galaxy and The Universe sit and cry, forced to watch there children.
