Mini Story Three:
Early Sunsets Over Monroeville
"Marian..." The rain started. Drops of the clear sweet liquid swept down her now blankly staring face. He took his hand and closed her eyes. "I have to go now.” He whispered. He slid her gently off his knees into to the now muddy ground. Her body looked cold and white against the rich colors of the grass and surrounding wet plants. The clouds turned the sky to a dull gray as they closed in. He kneeled there on the earthly floor for only a moment more before he raised himself. His eyes fell to slits as tears fell from them. His voice didn't quiver, "I never thought they'd find us here..." Leaning over he wiped just a little of the blood away from her face. In the same instant the grip he had on the gun in his left hand loosened. It fell to the ground.
