Knock knock

I woke up to the sound of my mum knocking on my bedroom door on Saturday morning.

'Maggie sweetie I have to talk to you...' I heard my mother's voice say. All I did was groan in response.

'Listen Maggie I got hired for a new job, and I start in a few weeks. We are going to have to move to Sydney, Australia. We are leaving in a few days. Hurry up and start packing.' She said smiling. When I heard I was moving I jolted awake.

'WHAT DO YOU MEAN WE ARE MOVING, MUM!? I JUST FINISHED ALL THIS SEMESTERS WORK AND NOW I CAN'T EVEN HAND IT IN!?!' I screamed so loud I'm sure I woke the neighbours up.

'Maggie stop yelling and start packing we leave on Thursday. You will be going to school Monday to Wednesday this week. So
you will be able to hand in the work if you would like.' My mother calmly stated. I groaned falling back to my pillow, "I am definitely not going to get my way!" I thought. At least I get to go to school for a few more days.

About 15 minutes after she left my room I decided to get up and start packing the things I won't use for the week, so I can get those out of my way.

I started with some clothes, shoes, posters, a few books, small things like that. When I was somewhat finished packing for today, I went downstairs to eat.

'Mum did you make anything for lunch?' I asked her as I walked into the kitchen, where she sat quietly reading.

'No, I thought you would like to make something, while I go get some things for the move.' She stated looking at her book.

'Ok, I was just wondering if you had, because I wanted to make the last of the pizza from last night.' I said to her as she got ready to leave.

'Now I will see you later. I will be out for a few hours.' She said as she grabbed her keys.

'That's fine, I will see you later.' I said as I put the pizza in the microwave.

When the microwave beeped I grabbed my pizza, walked into the living room and turned on spongebob.

I stayed there for hours just watching spongebob. Mum came back when it started to get dark out. When she walked back through the door she was carrying about 6 or 7 bags.

'Hey can you come help me put the food away? I still have to pack most of my things.' She said when she saw me on the couch.

'Sure,' I said not really wanting to because I was so comfortable.
