Claudia's POV
-I have never seen so many people gathered in one place. This is nuts. Pure craziness!- Lars exclaimed when we were trying to get to our seats.
-You've never seen something like this because there's nothing like the cheering crowd during a Bayern vs. Borussia game- I answered as finally collapsed on a seat in the lucky VIP section.
-Come here little buddy. You excited?- Lars said to Alex as he put him on his knees. My little boy was still mesmerized that he was going to see his first FCBM match that he didn't even bother with answering. He was simply staring at the pitch with his sparkling, hazel eyes- You sure bringing Alex here was a good idea? He seems to be under some kinda shock. Maybe it's because of the noise?- Lars asked me when Alex kept staring at the pitch.
-He's under a shock because his biggest dream is coming true. And if the noise becomes unbearable we still have a pair of the special earphones. Stop worrying this much. Makes me life like I'm a terrible, reckless mother- I replied and nudged Lars.
-You, my dear, couldn't be further from winning the competition for the worst mother- he replied as he planted a kiss on my cheek.
-Oh stop it, you cheeky little bastard- I pushed Lars away as we both broke into laughter.
-Mommy when uncle Fantasti shows up?- Alex finally spoken. The mix of hope and excitement in his eyes could make every heart melt.
-In a second darling. All the players have to warm up and have a motivating talk with coach first- I kissed his little head still being amazed how he and Bastian hit it off during their couple meetings. Alex was absolutely mesmerized by Bastian and I knew Basti long enough to be able to tell that the feeling was mutual.
-I bet little Alex's not the only one who can't wait to see mister Fantasti, am I right?- I heard Lars quiet whisper and I had to try really hard to control my facial expression. As far as lying, or as I preferred to call it hiding the truth, from my very own self was easy hiding the truth from Lars was almost impossible. Even though I knew he knew exactly what's been going on in my mind I still insisted that Bastian and I were just good old friends who after some time of not seeing decided to get on the friendship boat again.
-Look Alex, they're coming out!- I quickly told Alex when all Bayern and Dortmund players started walking on the pitch- Look there's Frank, Marco, Mario, Thomas, Manu and...
-Uncle Fantasti!- Alex exclaimed as he started clapping his hands. I followed Alex's sight and saw Bastian being all focused and determined on the pitch. I knew how important this games was to him, to all of us, FCBM supporters and I could see all the tension written on his face.
Suddenly something in his look changed. A beam appeared on his face as he quickly waved at us. When the three of us we waving back at him I could fee Lars looking at me and shaking his head.
Luckily when the game started there was no time for staring at people like you knew all their deepest thoughts. Nobody had time for that. All 70 000 people were screaming and cheering like mad just to help their team score the goal. Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately the level of the game was incredibly even. Each Bayern and Borussia had their chances but both defenses were too strong to be beaten. Most people were getting closer and closer to having a heart attack with every minute of the match.
-I'm not sure if starting this season with a German classic was a good idea- Lars shouted to me through all the noise at Signal Iduna Park- We're all gonna go nuts before this game ends and won't even see the rest of the season.
-Yeah but just think...- I stopped because mine and probably other 70 000 hearts stopped. Hummels made a horrendous mistake. Franck got the ball and he was speeding towards Weidenfeller's goal. At this moment I could swear he was faster than a freaking lightning. When he kicked the ball all FCBM fans were ready to celebrate their team's victory but the ball hit the post and flew back on the pitch. Moan of pain came out of our side of the box and a sigh of relief came from the yellow part of the stadium. And just the when we thought this game had end with a draw someone in a red shirt got to the ball. No it wasn't just someone, it was Bastian. And he did exactly what he had to do. He set the ball in Weidfeller's goal.
-Goaaaaaaaaaaal!- came out of everyone's mouth including Lars's, Alex's and mine. As we were all cheering and giving a standing ovation I couldn't stop looking at Bastian's happy, relieved face. When he noticed me the beam on his face became wider and all of sudden I realized that if it wasn't for my decisions in the past that's what my life would look like through the last couple years.
I quickly shook my head and came back to screaming and whistling with Alex.
Decisions had been made and there was nothing I could do about it. Right?
-This was wild- Lars said when the game ended. Even though he wasn't a die-hard Bayern fan and his heart belonged to a certain club from Spain I could see he enjoyed the hell of this game.
-Yeah, it definitely was. You enjoyed the game Alex?
-Yes! Can we go on the next match too?- Alex asked as fascination appeared in his tired eyes.
-I'll think about it- I answered as I stroked his hair- Time for us to go.
-Now, we're gonna spend hours on trying to get out from here- Lars moaned as he stood up- Good we're in the VIP section because we'd get crushed if we had to go the normal way.
-See it could've been worse so stop whining- I replied as I felt my phone vibrating. I took it out and saw Bastian's number on the display- Wrong number friend- I said as picked up.
-No, it's exactly the number I wanted to call- he answered and I felt myself smiling- I'm calling to know if you're not disappointed by the game.
-I couldn't be further from being disappointed. Well done Basti, or maybe Fantasti is more accurate now.
