Misery by Maroon 5 sounded from my phone. "Hello?"

"Where did you go?"

"Steven, leave me alone," I ended the call and found myself at the skate park.

"Close enough," I muttered, "As long as I'm anywhere from Steven."

I went to the music app on my iPhone and found myself drifting to sleep on the smooth concrete to She Will Be Loved.

"Sidney? What the hell are you doin' layin' in the middle of a ramp, idiot."

I opened my eyes to see Blaze, Cole's emo brother. "What the hell, Blaze. I was trying to get my mind off some stuff. You ruin everything you ass." I stood up and ran my hand through my curly hair.

"You look like hell, Sid," Blaze said, "What's goin' on?"

"Ha. You actually think I'd tell you. Besides it's nothin'. I just needed to be alone, which you so kindly interrupted," I said with sarcasm.

"I don't see why Cole puts up with you. You're such a self-centered brat."

"Oh, you know you secretly love me," I said narrowing my eyes at him.

He flinched, "No, I don't."

"Liar."

Blaze stepped towards me, a little to close. Our noses' almost touched, "You only wish, Babe."

"Maybe I do, you never know," I said pushing him away with a smirk.

He smirked, "Hm, I may be finding some interest in you."

"You only wish," I winked at him and walked the ten minutes to Cole and Blaze's shared balcony apartment.

I walked into the lobby and greeted Tony behind the desk, "Hey how's it going, Tony?"

"Good, how about you Ms. Cross," he said with a smile.

"Terrific," I fake smiled, "Is Cole home?"

"I think I saw him go up."

"Okay, thanks, Tony."

I took the elevator to the top floor and walked to 515. I knocked and waited for an answer. A few moments later the door opened.

"Hey, Hun," I said coming in.

"I thought you were going home?" Cole asked running a had through his gorgeous hair.

"You look like you've been asleep," I said walking to his bedroom with him right behind me. Hoping to change the subject.

When he followed after me he closed the door and walked over to the bed. "That's because I was."

"I'll go then, so you can sleep. I remember you saying you never left my side while I was in the hospital," I said walking to him and kissing him.

Cole pulled me down on top of him. "No, please stay."

I smiled at him and tossed my bag to the floor kicking off my shoes in the process. "Nah, I think you should sleep."

"I'd be too distracted," he said pulling me up to him, so I could lay my head on his bare chest.

I draped my arm across his well chiseled abs. "Cole, can I stay here tonight?"

"Anytime, Babe. But why didn't you go home? I thought you wanted to see your mom?"

"I can see her tomorrow or somethin'. Well, after school anyways," I got off his bed and went to his closet.

"What are you doin', Sid?"

"Sorry, but I'm not sleeping in skinny jeans. I'm gettin' one of your t-shirts," I said grabbing a Breaking Benjamin shirt off the hanger. I pulled off the skinny jeans and tank top, and slipped on the t-shirt; it came mid-thigh. I threw my clothes on his dresser and went to the living room to find Cole stretched out on the couch.

"Wanna wa-," he stopped talking when he saw me, mouth open.

"Cole, honey, close your mouth. You're starting to drool and honestly it's not attractive," I said with a smirk.

"Don't worry, Babe, I only drool for you, but that doesn't mean I do," he replied.

"Yeah, whatever. Would you at least sit up so I can sit down?" I asked putting my hands on my hips.

"You look cute when you do that." He sat up and I sat between his legs, resting my head on his chest.

"Cole, can we watch a movie?"

"I was going to ask you that but you just had to come in here looking sexy. What movie do you want to watch?"

"Let's rent Beastly."

"Really. Why don't we watch a scary movie? You always get scared. That's the best part," he said with a chuckle.

"Okay, fine," I pulled the throw off the back of the couch and put it over us. "Really, Insidious? I hate this movie. It's so freaky."

"Don't worry, Babe, I'll protect you from the monsters," Cole said tightening his arms around my waist.

"How are you so sure you could?" a smile crossed my face.

"Shhh, it's on."

Twenty minutes later, a scream escaped my lips. "Sid, Babe, it's okay. Calm down," Cole said. I pulled the covers over my head.

About an hour and a half later I was too scared to get off the couch, so Cole carried me to his bedroom, "Sid, can you handle being by yourself while I go to the bathroom real quick?"

"I guess, but hurry," I said with a frown. I was sitting indian style in the middle of Cole's bed.

Cole had just shut the bathroom door when I heard the front door open, "Cole? I think s-someone's here," I stuttered, but he didn't seem to hear me. I slowly got off the bed and went to the hallway. I looked down the hall to the front door. No one was there...
