I arrived back at my dorm to see that I had the place to myself. Which means doing what I usually do. I propped my bed sheets up on my bed by tying them to the corners of my bed, and kept it all up by counting it to my desk chair that was pushed up against my bed. Not the biggest fort but it'll do. I grabbed my laptop and scooted under the covers, turning on one of my favorite animes.
Which was a mistake.
Thinking I was alone I start to sing along to the theme song, "Kiss kiss fall in-" "What are you doing?" Ike popped his head into my fort. I quickly slammed my laptop shut. "Nothing...just.. Homework." Ike shook his head, "We don't start classes till tomorrow. What were you watching?" I looked at him and blinked. "W-was it po-" "NO!" I screamed, now furiously blushing. "So what was it..?" I sighed and opened it back up and showed it to him. "Dweep." Was all he replied with as he gave me back my beloved device.
I sighed and laid down on my side. Hopefully I get on his good side at some point. I turned back over and places my laptop back down, then closing my eyes. Sleeping off the embracement, it's like I didn't change at all.Moments later I woke up from the sound of the same anime I was watching earlier. I poked my head out of my fort and looked to see where the sound was coming from.
There in all its glory was Ike, hunched over using my stuff. I slowly slid off my bed and sluggishly walked over to him. "Are you regretting calling me a dweep now?" He looked up at me with his brown eyes and nodded. "I can show you more that you'll like better then that if you want, oh and maybe so of the books and bands I like too!" Ike smiled, which made me smile too knowing he was happy. "Baby steps Hunter, let's just start with this anime crud?" I nodded and plopped myself next to him, taking my electronic away. "Let's see..." I pulled up the list of anime I watched over my lonely years and explained to him what the basics of them were. "So cannibals, giant naked people, murderous video game, death school, and weird swimming thing, I'll probably watch." Ike said describing them in his own way. "If you want I can watch them with you after..." I looked at my side of the room, looking for the clock "after lunch and the rest of unpacking time I lost to sleeping?" Ike hesitated for a minute and looked at me again. "I can go grab food...while you unpack...?" I nodded and walked over to grab a piece of paper. I wrote down a few things and handed it to him. "Uh...t-thanks for being nice to me... I mean not that you're mean or anything, your nice so far- I mean..." I kept messing up on my words and Ike chuckled. Probably at my stupidity in socializing. "Thanks for being the first friend I had." Once again Ike smiled and I felt my stomach turn. Why exactly did that happen?
Once Ike came back with my Subway and I finished unpacking, I spread blankets and pillows on the floor to sit on while we binged watch anime. Is this what it's like to have friends? Getting food for each other and sharing things you like with one another? I think... I think I can get used to this.
