Chapter One It was a warm day in Omaha, Nebraska on June 19. Hailey Chuka, a blonde blue-grey eyed girl, was moving to Virginia. Hailey was 5'5 ft tall and for a short girl, she was very much into sports of all sorts. From swimming to soccer, she was the best on her team. She was sipping from her grande Starbucks. Chocolate chip with white mocha, her current favorite, while watching the movers move her furniture. One of the movers was picking up her lamp and as he was, his grip loosened and the fragile ceramic lamp shattered before him. "Hey, that was my grandmas!" Hailey shouted, rushing over to see the remains of the broken glass pieces. "We are really sorry with the inconvenience, we'll make the moving trip free if you want, again we are really sorry." The boy muttered with lazy eyes. "That was a fifty dollar lamp you just smashed!" Hailey spoke with fury in her words. The mover let out a big sigh and went back to work. Just then, a huge scream came from the garage. "Aiee, a rat!" The other mover yelped. "That's my dog.." Hailey said with an unimpressed tone in her voice.
As the day went on, and it was too late to cook dinner, so she found the closest fast food restaurant and ordered a meal. A small fries, burger, and a shake. The food wasn't great but it was better than nothing. While she was eating in her car, her phone rang. It was her friend Rachel. She was explaining how some of the MagCon boys were doing a meet up near where Hailey was moving to. "Ya, there gonna be there starting at 2:30 and they'll be there till 4:00!" Rachel continued. "Taylor, Matthew, and a couple others will be there. It's gonna be on June 22. Be there?" Rachel asked. "Duh, an opportunity like that doesn't happen everyday!" Hailey answered. MagCon was part of her life and if she had a chance to meet even one of MagCult, it would be an honor! "Ok see you there then!" Rachel said excitedly, hanging up. Just then, Hailey remembered she was moving a day after the meet and greet! "How am I going to do this?" Hailey groaned, sliding back in her seat. "Maybe I can push the moving date a little earlier, but then again I am just talking to a little bear.." She said, staring at the little beaded eyes of a plush white bear with a little ribbon tied around its neck that sit lifeless on her dashboard. She lay back down, reclining the cars seat, pondering about what to do. Since she had no more furniture in her house, she was forced to live in her car until the big move. So for now she lie there, staring at the sunroof of her Lincoln, drifting off into a deep slumber.Chapter 2

"I'm awake, I'm awake!" Hailey moaned, still half asleep. Hailey reached for her phone to see that an unknown number was calling. "Hello?" Hailey questioned. "This is Happy Movers and Co. Sorry to inform that your moving date has been moved to June 21 because of a mistake in the closing dates. We are sorry about the inconvenience and hope to see you again soon, Happy Movers and Co." Hailey was both elated and frustrated with this company at the same time. "Your lucky I'm too happy to be mad at you right now!" She growled at her phone.
After a long time of traveling, she finally made it to the door of her new apartment, though she was no where near finished. She still had tons of boxes to unpack but, since procrastination took a hold, she was desperate to find a certain outfit for the meet and greet. Which means she was going shopping.
When Hailey arrived at the mall, she was astonished at how beautiful all the architecture was. A big french door entrance, and a slanted roofing to make it look abstract. The mall was huge, spreading from one end of the parking lot to the other, which was also way bigger than the one she had at her old place. This must be the biggest mall in all Virginia! Hailey thought staring in awe. As she entered the mall looking all around. Shops from every corner, and lights everywhere. There was a bakery in one area, which smelt of freshly baked bread. In another area was a shoe store, then a Starbucks, and finally a clothes store. There was still a million stores to look at, and since the meet up was in a day, so she had to act fast. She went to every store she could to see the clothes and shoes, and even a quick stop at Starbucks. After hours of searching and trying outfits on, she had found the one. A navy blue shirt with a cut out in the back. It had light pink rose accents in the front, bunched in the middle with the words that wrote "Never Grow Up". She also found some jeggings and black combat boots. All that hard work made me hungry.. Hailey thought. She explored a bit more until she found the food court and went to strait to the chipotle "One chipotle please, with extra guac." She said and munched on it until there was no more and went home for the rest of the day.
Hailey was about to enter the her apartment, when she realized the door was unlocked. She slowly opened the door to see who was there. No one. She thought of other rooms that weren't so out in the open like her bedroom. Hailey crept over to her bedroom door, but just as she was about to open the door a hand covered her mouth, pulled her back and pinned her to the wall. It was man around his late 30's and early 40's with a red bandana covering half his face. He was reaching for the the closest knife in her knife block that had been unpacked, and while he was not paying attention, Hailey bit his hand to break free. He shouted in pain and stepped back, tripping over an empty box and crashing, landing inside of it.
