There was a small village next to a large forest, with a river running through the other side. From her sketchy memory, I think there was a mill, and some shops, and a farm on the outskirts. A dirt road lead to the train station, otherwise known as the only way to get there. However, she can't for the life of her remember what it was called. It's on the tip of her tongue, she promises.

Ah! Aeredale, that was it. It's where she grew up, in that small village. Her family owned the mechanical shop, but they didn't do automail stuff. Things like bikes and people's lights and all the odd jobs. Sometimes, they would be able to fix cars, but the absence of any car was apparent when you spent at least 2 minutes there.

However, her dad managed to gather stray car parts from every time he went into any large city, mostly the capitol of their small district bordering Ishbal. Together, they made a motorcycle out of the spare parts

She rode that thing for hours on end, driving up and down the dirt track. She still rides that thing up and down the streets in East City when she's not making deliveries, trying to go as fast as she can without hurting anyone.

Well. I say trying.

She swerves sharply, trying to avoid the boy who just jumped into the middle of the road, her blue eyes widening as he looked up in shock. The motorcycle only crashed into him slightly, but it was enough for him to topple over, just managing to avoid bashing his skull.

"Shit! Watch where you're going, yeah?" The girl snapped, before sighing. "You okay?"

He just glared at her, getting up from the ground. Huffing, she takes her motorcycle helmet off and shakes her hair, letting it all loose. "I said, are you okay?"

"O-oh! Yeah, I'm fine." He blushed, shrugging. Hey, what's with all this attitude change? Wasn't he angry with her a minute ago? Smiling anyway, she perches the helmet on the handlebar closest to him.

"Where are you going?"

"Huh?" He asks, surprised.

"I mean, I owe you one. I could'a killed you," She tells him, "And besides, it's the least I could do."

He ponders over this for a moment, a gloved hand fondling his chin. "How can I trust you? I mean, you could take me down a strange alley and kill me or something..." He murmurs. There is a short pause, before she shoots her hand up to her mouth as she throws her head back, laughing her head off.

"It's a motorcycle, man! You could always jump off!" She chuckles. He shrugs nonchalantly, looking around subtly, considering his options. That was true, but what if...? No, he knows alchemy. This is fine.

"Uh, sure. But two questions. One: What's your name and two: Where are you going?"

She smiles.

"Donnie, and I'm going to military headquarters. Don't worry, I'm not a dog of the military... yet." She mumbles the last part, hoping he didn't catch what she was saying, but the guy who was just climbing on the back of the motorcycle looked at her as if she just offended his friend.

"What?" Donnie asked, oblivious.

"I'm going there too, because I work there."

No answer.

"I'm going there too because I'm Edward Elric. A dog of the military."

There was a pause, before Donnie made an o shape with her mouth.

"Ohh. But you're a runt!"

"DON'T CALL ME SO SHORT THAT YOU COULDN'T DISTINGUISH ME FROM THE ANT UNDER MY FOOT!" He yelled, trying to swing his fist at her. He stopped when his wrist was grabbed and pulled downwards, a sweet smile on Donnie's face.

"Okay, fun-sized! It'll be nice if you didn't punch me while we're riding on the motorcycle, okay?" She said cutely, but given the circumstances, a shiver jostled down Ed's spine.

"Uhh, sure. Sorry." He said sheepishly, grabbing onto the seat just in front of him. Donnie turned back, giving her helmet to the smaller boy behind her.

"You ever been on a motorcycle before?" Donnie asked, and Ed shook his head, putting the helmet on. She grinned mischievously, revving up the engine. "Well fun-sized, this is gonna be an interesting ride."

They shot forward and Ed nearly yelped, a tight grip on the seat. It seemed like she knew the city like the back of her hand, swerving with grace at every turn.

"Why are you going to headquarters?" He asked.

"I need to make a delivery, which means I'm gonna have to ask you where the person I'm delivering this package to is." Donnie shrugged as much as she could, turning again (much more slower than the last time, when Ed nearly slipped off. She couldn't help but laugh.) "Or you could deliver it for me... Actually, yeah, that's a good idea!" Donnie grinned, slowing down when they turned the street to East City Command. She stopped before Edward could protest, nearly letting him fly forward.

"Actually, no. But will you take me there?" She asked, climbing off the seat. Edward paused, and got off with her, wiping off his coat.

"Yeah, sure. Whatever. Who are you taking it to?" He asked, as Donnie kicked down the stand on her bike.

"Hm? Oh, it's for, erm... Colonel Roy Mustang! Yeah, that was it. The person who told me to deliver it said to try and do it nicely, apparently he doesn't like paperwork, especially if it's... Hey, why are you so shocked?"

Ed stared at her. Coincidences, of course, happen. On the good side, he doesn't have to take a detour. On the bad side, Mustang would probably get even more cocky if he was loaded with another bag-full of paperwork. Either way, Edward Elric was fucked. "Uh, yeah. I'm going there now, anyway. I'll show you."

And so, he led the way, looking in the corner of his eye at the girl who could of nearly killed him.

Oh, brother.
