Today I had to stay a little bit after school because I had to work on a group project for cinematography. It was fall time and the weather was getting cold. I bid goodbye to my group mates and started walking towards the front gate.
I was wearing my light brown coat with a pair of dark brown shoes and a pair of jeans. I was wearing a plain white shirt underneath. I knew the weather was going to be cold but I didn't know it was going to rain. I didn't have an umbrella or a hoodie. I was thinking about how I would get home without getting drenched. It was already 6 pm and the sun was going down for the day. It was raining really hard and it seemed like it wouldn't stop any time soon. I stood under the roof waiting for a while and admiring the beauty of this rainy day and also hoping that it would stop so I could get to my bus stop. I was looking around when I heard a deep voice calling my name.
"Oh hey Cece!" I looked to my left and my eyes landed on a very tall, handsome boy named Wonwoo. "Hey! What are you doing here? Shouldn't you have gone home already?" I asked him giving a slight smile. "I was actually absent for a few days last week so I had to do some make up work. I also had to make up a test. Why are you still here?" He asked me in a somewhat concerned tone. "I had to stay for a group project!" I replied and he looked at the pouring rain. "How are you getting home?" He asked me. "I have to take the bus, but the rain...and I don't have an umbrella either!" I told him cursing in my head for not getting an umbrella in the morning. "I'll give you a ride! Don't worry! I won't let you take the bus in this weather, you'll get sick!" he replied and gave me a shy smile which caused me to blush. My cheeks were probably as red as a tomato because of the cold and how he was making me feel. "I-I don't wanna bother you!" I told him and he shook his head. "You won't don't worry! And besides we haven't talked to each other in a while." He said giving me a smile with his nose scrunched up which gave me butterflies in my stomach.
I've known Wonwoo ever since sophomore year. We had a few classes together and that's how we met. We even used to hang out together at snack and lunch. I always thought that he was one of the cutest boys in our school. My feelings weren't that strong but as time passed by, I started to like him more. Last year, we weren't that close because he found a new group of friends and so did I. We would still talk but not as much as before. This is our last year in high school and it would be great if things could go back to the way they were.
He opened up his umbrella and held it above our heads. "Thank you!" I told him as we started walking towards his car. He was wearing a black coat, and a pair of dark brown boots with jeans. He was wearing a cream colored shirt underneath and I could also smell his cologne since our bodies were extremely close. I was feeling very nervous but excited since our shoulders were touching. I had never been this close to him before. He was being careful that my shoulder wouldn't get wet from the rain and I thought that he was such a gentleman. After a few minutes of walking under the rain, we got to his car. He opened the door for me while holding the umbrella above my head and I got in. My nose was filled with a satisfying smell of his cologne again. He sat down and put his umbrella and backpack in the back seat. "It's raining like crazy!" he said smiling and my heart was beating even faster. "I know it hasn't rained like this in a while!" I said while taking off my bag and putting on my seatbelt. He nodded turning on the car. We stayed there for a few minutes just chatting while the car was heating up. He started getting out of the parking lot and asked me "Which way is your house?" and I pointed to the right. "So how is everything?" He asked me trying to make a conversation so we wouldn't just be sitting in the car saying nothing. "Everything is fine! How about you?" I asked him. "I've been well!" he smiled and then continued. "I missed talking to you!" he said which made me smile. "I missed talking to you too! I'm glad we saw each other!" I said and he looked like he had something to add to my response. "Do you wanna go get some coffee and chat? This weather wouldn't be complete without a hot drink!" he retorted and I was internally screaming. It would be considered as a date I guess but I didn't wanna bring it up. "I'd love to!" I replied trying very hard not to show how excited I was. "Great!" he smiled and turned left, heading for a different direction.
