Shawn was coming home in a week. I was so excited when I woke up this morning, I barely kept my breakfast down. Shawn was gone for 6 months recording in a studio. I'm happy for him, but when he was the one protecting you from everything bad in the world, it's hard.

"I can't wait to see you tomorrow!" Shawn grinned through my tiny phone screen.
I smile back. Shawn was finally coming home tomorrow. He left in June, and it's already December.
"Well, I'm going to bed. I need to get up early tomorrow so that I can catch my flight. Goodnight Ella!"
The last thing I see before I click the "end call" button is Shawn's smiling face. I missed him so much, and now I finally get to see him tomorrow. Falling asleep with so many things on your mind is hard to do. But somehow I manage to do so and have a dreamless slumber.
When I wake up a black dress with daisies on them is laid out on the foot of my bed along with a black leather jacket and a note.
Wear this when we go to the airport today to meet Shawn. You'll look good in it :)
-Gilinsky
I smile and set my feet on the cold wooden floor. A pair of white converse is set on the floor and I smile even more. When I finish getting ready I run down the stairs to greet the rest of the boys.
"Gilinsky was right. You do look good in that," Cam says.
They all nod in agreement and I blush before thanking them. We pile into the car and head toward the airport with Cameron driving. We spent the 30 minute drive listening to the radio and singing along to every song off-key. They made me laugh, and not a fake laugh. A real laugh.

I pace back and forth in front of Aaron. The rest of the boys went to go get food (meaning Starbucks and cookies) and he offered to stay with me. Aaron is really nice, but he's a little quiet. We don't talk much, but I know that he loves to sing and play guitar.
"Aren't you hot in that jacket?"
I freeze, and turn to face him. I slowly shake my head with a quiet "no". He doesn't seem to believe me though.
"Ella, it's like 90 degrees in here. You have to be burning up."
"I'm not hot, okay? Besides, it's freezing outside. Maybe I haven't warmed up yet."
Don't cry. Don't let him see you cry. Aaron opens his mouth, about to ask another question, but the boys appear with our "breakfast". I silently take my Pumpkin Spice Latte and chocolate chip cookie from Hayes and sit down.
15 minutes later we all get a text from Shawn saying that he is about to land. My knee bounces up and down uncontrollably. 6 months I've gone without seeing him. I can't believe how fast it went though. I've survived school so far. The boys have listened to Shawn's instructions and have treated me like a princess. The only thing that was missing was Shawn.
A crowd of people walk from around the corner and my knee suddenly stops. A few more seconds. Shawn's head peeks around the corner and my heart pounds in my chest. He looks up and our eyes meet. He smiles and breaks out into a run. It was like a scene in one of those over-dramatic chick flicks. They guy and girl haven't seen each other in months, and when they do, they run in slow motion towards each other.
Shawn pick me up and twirls me around. I let out a quiet sob and bury my head in his shoulder. Paparazzi are everywhere, snapping pictures of Shawn and I hugging. We pull away and Shawn links our fingers together, guiding me back to the boys.
