After recording, Luke and I went out to the lobby where the other boys were. They all looked up when we walked in.
"How'd it go?" Calum asked.
"Great," Luke answered before I could speak. "She was incredible. Like I said she would be." Luke put his arm around my waist and squeezed slightly,as if to reassure me. "So how about we head out now? We have somewhere else to be." He looked down at me then and his eyes shone with a glint of something unfamiliar, mischief maybe. I decided to ignore it and just go along with whatever the plans were.
"Alright. So it's about fifteen minutes from here and it's already," Ashton spoke, pausing to look at his watch, "6:30, Jesus. That took longer than I thought."
"What?!? We're supposed to be there by now!" Michael yelled, causing a few people from reception to look over at us. Michael sent them a small wave. "We need to go guys." He lowered his voice.
"Go where? What do you mean?" I inquired.
"We're running out of time. We have to get going if we're going to get to part B of your birthday surprise fashionably late," Luke answered. I just nod my head yes, and with that we take off. The boys run to the elevator and Luke holds my hand, dragging me along at their fast pace. Once we reach the ground floor, they race for the front doors and then to the car. When we are all safely inside the cars, Ashton took off to our destination.
I put my hand on Luke's leg, trying to get his attention. He was staring out the window, his fingers drumming on his chin. "Luke."
"Yeah?" He turned his head to look at me, a small smile playing at the corner of his lips.
"What are you thinking about?" I asked him. He seemed lost in his own world, just staring out into the city streets.
"You, actually." What? "I just mean, I want this day to be perfect. 18 is a big deal, you know?"
I put my hand on top of his before I spoke. "Luke, I'm pretty sure whatever it is you all panned is better than what I would have been doing by myself. I'm sure it will be amazing."
"Have a little faith in me. It'll be legendary," he smirked.
"Alright Barney Stinson. Whatever," I laughed, our fingers still intertwined. Luke and I had discussed our favorite television shows before, and we both loved How I Met Your Mother.
About ten minutes later, Ashton pulled up to what looked like a club. "This is it. And only a little bit after I planned," Ashton said, turning off the car. We all hopped out of the car, Luke and I still holding hands.
"Aw, look at you love birds," Michael said. "How cute." He and Calum laughed, Ashton just shook his head smiling.
"Whatever, let's go," Luke said. I laughed at how flustered he sounded. I leaned up and kissed his cheek as we walked to the entrance. Luke blushed slightly and the boys whistled and made dog-like sounds. I smirked at them and winked at Luke. "And if you totally hate it, blame Ashton. This part was his idea. Well, all except for some of it." He looked down at me with a sly grin on his face.
"I'll make sure to thank Ashton later then," I responded innocently. "That'd be the proper thing to do."
"In that case, thank me too because I'm sure you'll love what I have in store. And I'm pretty sure you liked the studio session." He continued to talk as we walked to the front doors. Luke and I were the last ones to enter and when we did, it was like we had stepped into a different world. It was dark, but not enough so that I couldn't see. The large room was filled with people that were either taking, drinking, or dancing to the loud music playing. There were colored lights over a certain area, what I assumed was a dance floor. In the middle, there was a bar with white lights and barstools around it. It was insane and intense. I loved it.
